Chitownhustla
wanted to get everyone's thoughts on this possible trade. On one hand I think about when Graham was with Saints and how dominate he was. Think about an offense with him, Alshon and White. That trio could be insane. How do you stop those three(if white is as good as expected). On the other hand, what is Graham going to look like post injury? Would you get the Sea Graham or the Saints Graham? for debating purpose lets say Graham is going come back and play like the Saints Graham. Would you make that trade? Alaskan Grizzly
Rumor or no and to answer your question I would do it. Only concern I have, other than what you already mentioned is whether he'd carry over that stinky attitude he had with Seattle. The last thing we'd need is trading one malcontent for another malcontent. That and we'd lose some of the blocking ability that Bennett offers. DABEARSDABOMB
I'd want Graham to restructure and I'd want to make sure we are confident in Graham's health. I'm on board.
DABEARSDABOMB
ESPN reporting Packers interested in Marty B (if he is cut). Supposedly market for Marty is very cool. Evidently teams don't usually show much interest when you have a player who is "holding" out / wanting a new contract. Marty is a top 5 TE in this league, but if you could somehow move him for Jimmy, I'd be all over that (presuming we can restructure / ensure we have some safety valves in terms of Jimmy not being healthy). Chitownhustla
A Seattle friend said it's been discussed in the area, local radio, and on some message boards. And I just saw today that the Packers are said to be interested in Bennett as well. Are the Bears or Bennetts agents leaking this info to get Sea to jump at a deal? Nice timing for the Pack to be jumping in on the interest train......

At least if you have two people interested it may raise the price. As of now probably a 6th but if we could get a 5 th or trade for Graham. Graham may not be the same player he was with NO but would rather have him than paying Miller 5 mil a year.

Interesting that Miller's agent is Rosenhaus, who also repped Dwayne Allen. So you know Miller is going to be asking for a ton, given what Allen got. Allen has talent, but his production doesn't come close to the pay (juts like Miller's history isn't worthy of any significant guaranteed money, imo). A, because I don't see the two franchises dealing with each other, and B, because the reported interest was purely if he was released (not interested in a trade). Clearly the Packers saw enough of Marty to release how hard it was to gameplan for him. Dude is really really good.

It's all gossip right now. They could have the scariest offense in the NFL with the additions of Forte, Bennett and return of Jordy Nelson. They all ask for a ton and I don't blame them. For some reason the Colts actually gave it to Allen. Good for Allen. As for Zach Miller, let's be clear: he did nothing in the NFL. He was out of the league for 3 years. Last year he had 34 receptions for 435 yards and 5 touchdowns. He's 32 in October. AND he's not very good at blocking. Take away the 80 yard reception where St. Louis crapped themselves, and we are offering Miller a minimum deal.

Agreed 100%. He's a nice #2 TE option. You figure 2 years 3-4 million. What's crazy is supposedly he was asking for 5 million per.

I would never even think of handing Miller big guaranteed money or a starting job. I'm all over him at a reasonable deal as a great backup who will get tons of action in two TE sets. DABEARSDABOMB
Pretty much nothing left on the FA TE market (outside of our own guy). If we are moving Marty, it basically means we have to draft a TE (unless we move him for another teams TE). Mike Garafolo @MikeGarafolo TE Coby Fleener to the Saints. Big target for Drew Brees. DABEARSDABOMB
Marty has to be licking his chops. He is so much better than these guys. 5 years 36 million for Fleener.

And that's more and more reason to trade his ass. A guy like Marty is not worth 6-7M per year. In terms of other TEs he might be, but that's too much for a guy who is a headache, has iffy hands, and doesn't jibe with Cutler perfectly. I realize you love ripping on Marty, but Marty is a better blocker than Dwayne Allen or Fleener and basically when healthy put up combined the same numbers two of them did. Guy is a top 3, worse case, top 5 TE in this league. All that said, you say he's not worth any of this and than say we can get massive value for him. Reality is, guys who are holding out, don't get traded for much because the Bears have zero leverage in this situation and other teams know it. Brad Biggs was asked about the Bennett for Graham rumor and his response was, "I don't think the Seattle coaching staff wants another Bennett bitching about money and play calling." Let me ask you this: did you think we'd get more in trade for Brandon Marshall last year?
