Martellus Bennett traded...Patriots

ASHKUM BEAR

These guys don't go to practice, then hang out all the time after that. They show up, do their job, go home. We all have ppl we don't like at our job's and deal with it. These guys are top in their field, play hurt, and try to win.

If you love Marshall so much or Bennett, they play for other teams, go watch them.

I really hate it when ppl say that stupid crap. It's so ignorant. "You don't agree with my opinion and it isn't not blindly loyal to team, then go support another team."

If they were still here, you would be making the same argument to someone wanting to get rid of them, go support another team. It's not like they were toxic and everyone hated them. Jeffery loved Marshall and is a large reason he developed the way he has.

That fact that I like the Bears and have an opinion is why I was here. There's no reason to even come to the message board if you are going to think everything they do is amazing. Just sit back blind bliss and be happy and eat some meatballs.

Of course I will watch more of the Jets this year, because Forte and Marshall are there. Mainly because they are the Bears Bears offensive players in 20 years. I will also be watching the Bears when I feel like it, while you will be watching nothing as you sit blindly in a corner.

Agree. This is a Bears board. Anything Bear related should be inbounds. Old players included.

I dont where blinders and agree with everything a team does.If you have been on here for a long time you will know I have a mouth on me when agreeing or disagreeing with a particular topic. In this case I disagree with your point of view, as animate as you are about it, the same animation I disagree against that premise. Life is not perfect and we need to just learn to go with the flow, if everybody had the same point of view about everything this would be a boring site. For me being a Bear fan, I try to understand the reasons for everything and try to stay positive about the future, I do not agree with all choices but in the end if we become a consistent winning football franchise, Im on board.

I agree and that difference of opinion is what makes discussions on here interesting. Sometimes we are convinced by other posters to rethink our opinions, sometimes we convince others, sometimes we agree to disagree. It's all good as long as we are civil, it's when that civility breaks down that makes many of us stop reading a thread as there's no point in reading posts of people kicking dirt at each other. We all are Bears fans or we wouldn't be here doesn't mean we always agree with every move. When I read the post that this is in response to IMHO it's not cool to attack people for having a different opinion that you have. We have to keep in mind that not everyone in life will agree with us, that doesn't make them wrong, stupid, or ignorant by default. It also doesn't mean we are right or wrong. Before posting and calling people stupid, ignorant, and taking the "i'm taking my ball and going home" attitude. Stop, think, and ask yourself how would I react or feel if other posters called me stupid, ignorant, etc. for having a different opinion? We all want to be respected by each other on this board but that starts by respecting others. Just my 2 cents

i would say that is worth a dollar. Sometimes I am overtaken with sarcasm and will post things with a sense of humor involved. Sometimes when I say that was a stupid statement it is not meant to be said as calling a person stupid. When people take it personal, I sometimes jump on that bandwagon. There are a few people I am animated with, but I dont honestly dislike anyone on here. I valve the discussions and difference in opinions, sometimes it changes mine. Opinions are like assholes we all have one. Some thoughts have reasons that are just stupid, I admit some come out of my mouth sometimes. We are all passionate about the Bears or we wouldnt be on here so much. Sometimes I say smart things and sometimes dumb, nothing is absolute, but everything is driven by passion just not always well thought out as I like.

We may like it or not, but the Bears are cleaning house and building a team with young players that can grow together and not be influenced with bad attitudes. When this core has grown and have their own identity and leaders, they can add a Marty Bennett if they need a push to get them a trophy. Since they have a year or two, there is no need to have a bad tree to drop its seeds.

Totally agree, Pace an Fox are rebuilding this team with youth, and creating a new core of players that they hope will form the nucleus of leaders and create a positive culture of winning. This is a time when we need to have guys in the building that will promote that growth rather than hinder it. Once that culture takes hold and is strong enough to handle guys who might need to be kept in line it can work because they are then coming into a winning culture and one that they will respect. Kind of like when the Bulls added Rodman, how many other teams did he wreak havoc on in the locker room, on the court, and off the court when the Bulls brought him to town. Difference in Chicago is the team had a strong established core and culture. Didn't mean Rodman stopped being Rodman, but he was kept in line for the most part, and he respected his teammates. The Bears are not at that stage, right now what we need are leaders who will help build that strong core and culture that can put us in a position to handle players and not let them become distractions and have that effect on the teams culture.

It only matters what a player does on Sundays on the field. You're team doesn't improve from the loss of talented guys like Marshall and Bennett.

The reply above is why it's more than just stats on Sunday. A young growing team that's developing it's identity, needs good leadership, and malcontents at this time can have long term negative effects, vs an established culture that can handle a BM or MB type. It doesn't help a team for a player to put up stats on the field but destroy it off the field. While it may in the moment help your on the field product that won't last when they have poisoned the teams culture.

Perfect! My point too, but much better

Reading all the posts confuses me a little because there seems to be more angst about losing Marshall and Bennett than there is about losing Forte, for years a focal point and big % of the offense with both BM and MB here, who was drafted and developed by this franchise while the other two players were passing through so to speak. I understand why all are gone but, don't share the same loyalty to other teams castoffs that came here vs one that came up through this franchise and showed nothing but class and dignity and even with his recent comments about not getting an offer still took the high road. The only more uncomfortable exit for a running back in this franchise's history was Neal Anderson, following reports that his dad had allegedly murdered his girlfriend.

The top 3 RBs in my viewing of Bears football that dates back to 1966 are Payton, Sayers and Forte!

Just think we could be the Lions who have the RB franchise leader in yards retire after 9 years and the WR yardage leader retire after 9 years! It must really suck to play in Detroit!

I too wish we could have held on to Forte....I am not cap savvy enough to know if it made sense from that angle but he sure was a true blue guy all the way. I wish he could have retired as a Bear.

Bennett and Marshall, I think you have to be behind the scenes to know maybe. However, it is clear that what we got from both did not seem to equal the loss.

The idea that if someone says X then someone comments "then go watch that team" is a stupid one. It's not calling him stupid, it is just a ridiculous comment that is way too often used in many circumstances and a stupid one at that.

And there is ignorance in his stance that anyone's opinion of ex-Bears from that statement. That is not an insult to him, it is just a fact. The statement implies that if you defend or disagree with the loss of a player, then you must stop being a Bears fan and go watch them. That's a blanket statement, that doesn't consider any facts, and an indicator of ignorance when it comes to opinions of players who left for other teams.

It's not meant as insults, just facts.

Reading is a skill, never once did I say quit being a bears fan, I stated if you you like them so much go watch that team. You can continue your Bennett Love, Marshall love. Non of the argument had to disliking then because they are no longer bears, it has to do with understanding WHY the coaching staff no longer wants them. You act like Fox called me up and asked my opinion, I am just agreeing with his opinion. I think both are productive players, but trying in instill a winning culture does not always accept me me me players. You have a right to your opinion it just is not the same as mine.

Its ok if you want to just say IM STUPID, because you read something in to words I laid down. No where did I say in that post to quit being a Bear fan, or because there ex bears to dislike them, Im not that everything they do ok fan.
