Who do we take in round #2???

I've thought all along round #2 was the perfect spot for a 5 technique. We struck gold their with Goldman last year and the draft is much deeper.

On a side note, Atlanta and Oakland both made deep reaches at safety in Neal and Joseph. i don't know what to think of that, but it helps the Bears in solidifying the defensive front.

I think there is going to be a huge run on DE pretty soon. Robinson, Bullard, Calhoun, Spence, Billings, Butler, Reed.

At this point I could see Nkemdiche slipping. If he's there, I hope the Bears jump on him in the first 5 seconds.

I am all in on 5t if the right guy is there.

I would hate that pick.

Henry in the 2nd makes more sense than Elliott in the 1st. Their talent is not that far apart, and getting him a round later is a huge bonus. He's going to be a monster. I still think he'll be better than Elliott in the NFL.

Having said that, I don't want him in the 2nd. Too many good 5T guys there. Too many good SS guys there. Too many OTs there. All three positions are more important than RB right now for the Bears.

I don't think they are even comparable backs. Elliot is so much more talented. Huge gap . I also have limited faith in the ability to truly evaluate a Bama back. They play behind massive lines and thus you really have a hard time being able to see if they truly can deal with the size of holes and gaps in the NFL. Elliot was so freaking complete. A lot of really successful people rated him as the best back to be out in years. You have the guy who had Faulk compare him with Faulk. Comparisons to Ladamian Tomilson.

We shall see in a few years. Of course, the team they go to has a lot to do with it, but I don't believe there is a huge gap. Elliott is definitely set up for success right now with Dallas and their awesome OL.

Henry has a 37" vert, 130" broad, and an 11.5 60-second shuttle. Those are explosive numbers. And he's 6'3", 240lbs of muscle.

Compare that to Elliott who had a 32.5" vert and a 118" broad, and you'd think Elliott was the bigger man. He's 3 inches shorter and 15-20lbs lighter.

The only real advantage I give Elliott is in pass catching. Otherwise, I think Henry is just as good or better. I know Henry is stronger for sure, and the combine numbers say he's more explosive. 4.47 forty compared to a 4.54 forty could just be a matter of better form in the particular race.

Add that having Henry in a RBC set up AND the Bears were willing to persue a back like CJ Anderson (not all that flashy himself) it makes a lot more sense than getting Zeke in round 1. Most of you have said that DLmen is deep in this draft so I'd be willing to bet you could still find a good enough one in round three or four. OLmen = meh

With so many DTs and DEs still sitting there I see some teams willing to trade up to get one. I think we'll trade back and try to gain back the 4th Rd pick pick we lost, or at least a 5th Rd pick. In my mind we should be taking one of the DTs that fell out of the 1st Rd: Reed, Robinson, or Jones.

Players with a 5.8 Grade or higher on NFL.com:

QB: Cook

RB: Henry, Howard

WR: Shepard, Boyd, Peake, Thomas

TE: Henry

OL: Whitehair, Clark, Coleman, Westerman, Spriggs

DL: Robinson, Dodd, Jones, Reed, Bullard, Ridgeway, Ogbah, Billings, Spence, Johnson, Henry, Correa

LB: Jack, Ragland, Cravens, Fackrell

CB: Alexander

There are 30 players with a 5.8 or higher, and 12 of them are DL. So it looks like we could move down a few spots and still get a DL and maybe pickup a mid-round pick.

Surprisingly, the scores are pretty accurate as no player was selected in the first round with a score lower than 5.8.

If we look at all the mocks that were out there, the results show most people have no idea what there talking about. We think teams are reaching for a player because they drafted somebody we didnt see in a first round draft. I would say the mockers had it wrong not the teams.

So in the second round we can get a very good player.

TE is a spot we could upgrade and Henry is being compared to Greg Olson( I could live with that pick)

S- Vonn Bell is the highest rated FS by most mocks and would be a good pick at a position of need.

DL- many choices here-Robinson-Reed-Cris Jones-Andrew Billings-Bullard-Day-Austin Johnson

RB- Henry-Dixon-Perkins-Howard

CB-Alexander

I think if we can get Cris Jones-Jarron Reed- Andrew Billings- we should pull the trigger.

Dont be surprised if we grab

Vonn Bell/FS

Hunter Henry/TE

Alexander/CB

Finding a 5T is my top priority now. I would like to see them enhance the Floyd selection with another big oline eater. I wouldn't trade down too far with my eyes on Jarron Reed or Chris Jones.

If we want point of attack power DTs that are run stuffers:

Reed

Robinson

Jones

Billings

Bullard

If we want a 5T with pass rush abilities:

Ogbah

Kaufusi

Nassib

Hargrave

Dodd

I think we valve speed the top 5:

Spence

Ogbah

Dodd

Bullard

Knaufusi

Here is my top 5 that rate as speed, run stuffer, pass rush

Reed is highest rated run stuffer with pass rush upside

Jones can play run and has upside with pass rush

Billings can do both

Bullard keeps popping up at all areas of good traits

Kaufusi keeps popping up at all areas of good traits

Surprise picks

Bullard- run stuffer, pass rush ability

Billings -power and interior push

Kaufusi-speed and production

Jason Hargrave/DT from South Carolina State 13 1/2 sacks last year

Shelton Day/DT he ranked only 2nd to Buckner in all defensive stats for a DL

The 6 players that would make the biggest impact for our team(in no particular order)

Hunter Henry/TE adds a healthy move TE most compared to Greg Olson

Derrick Henry/RB bruising back that would add to a RBC

Darrin Reed/5T would add stablity to DL

Cris Jones/5T would complete our front DL

Mackenzie Alexander/CB would start day one in our Nickel package on defense

Vonn Bell/FS would start as a rookie to add to Amos tandem

Agreed. Although I'd include Robinson in that mix. I'd be real happy with any of them. I'd also be happy with Henry, Vonn Bell, Dereck Henry, or Hunter Henry. We're going to get a real good player.

I don't see how they could pass up on Hunter Henry if he's there. I mean, can anybody here name the Bears #2 TE on the roster right now? When Zach Miller inevitably gets hurt again, the Bears will have no reliable TE to replace him. If this Hunter kid is suppose to be far and away the best TE in the draft, the Bears really need to seriously consider him with their second pick.
