The Chicago Bears have signed cornerback Brandon Boykin, according to Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun Times.

Boykin has 37 career passes defensed and eight interceptions. He played last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers and was then signed and released by the Carolina Panthers in the offseason.

The Bears have options at the cornerback position with Tracy Porter and Kyle Fuller on the roster.

Earlier this offseason, Boykin appeared on SI's Audibles podcast to share his experience about what NFL free agency is like.

according to PFF:

8. Brandon Boykin

2015 team: Pittsburgh Steelers

Just a few seasons ago in 2013, Boykin was among our highest-graded cornerbacks in coverage. After being traded to Pittsburgh for a late-round draft pick prior to the start of this season, he hardly saw the field for much of the season. The Steelers finally gave him more playing in Week 13, and he played well. He had one interception, two pass defenses, and allowed a passer rating of 65.0 over the final five weeks of the regular season.

Chicago also signed wide receiver B.J. Daniels, which brings the roster to the 90-player maximum.

I am curious where he will fit. As of now it is a tryout and since he is injured his odds are slim. Porter was in the same boat, so maybe they go off of his past performances too. Still not hearing much on the DBs in camp other than the WRs getting behind them for great catches. That is camp for you though, eventually they tighten down.

I heard that they were looking at him at NB.
