Michael Bennett calls Cutler Worst QB in the NFL

So the Bennett brothers rip Cutler and Marshall says he thinks Jay could win the MVP? What a crazy day.

I can tell you I lost all respect for the Bennett's after this interview. I hope they both tear ACL's.

Couldn't agree more. They are both classless POS.

Michael is flat wrong but Jay is not the 'worst' QB. He's not the best by any stretch but not as bad as MB alludes to.

Martellus isn't wrong in that yes he'd be open and yes Jay would throw into double coverage. He's done it with numerous receivers. But Martellus never really said much else that seemed damning... Unless you count the stuff he said last year.

BM may be right. Sure if the stars, planets, and AJs health all align there is a slight possibility that Jay could be an MVP. Agree that he does possess the potential. Will he? Doubtful.

agreed.

But, White's Cutty comments are the best!

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/news/bears-wr-...-164557787.html

Speaking to Sports Illustrated's Ben Baskin, White took exception to what Bennett had to say.

"Jay Cutler is a good person," he said. "He wants to win. He's a good teammate and he cares a lot. He is not selfish at all. Any selfish quarterback would have told me to come back and play [at the end of the season], even at 75 percent. He's just a great guy. We need to clean Jay's name up. He has a bad rep for no reason and I don't like it. I came in and everyone was telling me, Jay's an asshole, you're going to hate Cutler. I was like, I want to get to know this dude first. And it's just not true at all. None of it. Jay is like the pretty girl that doesn't wear makeup and doesn't go out, so nobody really know that she's pretty."

I was quite surprised to see Marshall's comments on Jay. Not surprised about Bennett(s).

I agree, Martellus didnt really say anything wrong. Hell every QB misses open players, Cutler may even do it more then the average QB. The Bennett bros love attention and these types of comments get them just that.

When the Bennett bros saying anything I typically just keep going to the next article or tweet.... As Jay Cutler says "Dont Care"!!!!!!!

This to me speaks more of Whites character. Which from what I hear he's a high character guy. The more I see and hear of him he reminds me of Larry Fitzgerald. I just hope he can perform to that level.

Bennett had his best years in his career playing with Culter, and then screws him over. Anybody that wanted Bennett still here, this is why he had to go, its mememe

Here's Loggains on what being open really means...

http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...2c-829c4ba965b8

"He just has to understand to continue to grow and get open in the timing of the play and not just when the route's at 10 [yards], break it off at six [because] he's open, so the quarterbacks get a better feel for him. As he grows and learns what each play means and the concepts and the timing of each play, he'll continue to grow that way."

That was his comment regarding Braverman but when I hear Bennett say I was open and then I remember some of those crazy INTs Cutler threw towards Bennett I can't recall any other player Cutler was more "off' target with than Bennett. Forget the bad throws into coverage, these INT were clearly Cutler goes here Bennett goes there. There was no other starter on offense Cutler was more out of sync with than Bennett. Even backups like Mariani who came in late and got reps in the slot was in the right spot quite often late year to bail Cutler out on many 3rd down throws. While that was happening Bennett was quietly being demoted in the red zone because he didn't run routes correctly (in favor of Miller) and eventually shut down by the coaches who didn't want to deal with his BS anymore. I know there were some injury concerns but we were still fighting to stay in the hunt late in the season.

Then we traded him for a bag of peanuts, and the entire league knows what that means. His brother comes to his rescue and blames Cutler for his brother's issues. How convenient. It was probably Cutler's fault Bennett got into that fight with Fuller in Trestman's last training camp. Trestman was the last man to discipline anyone and he kicked Bennett out of training camp. And people say Cutler has the bad attitude.

I am a huge fan of White's from that perspective as well. I'm eagerly awaiting to be a fan of his HoF worthy upcoming career!

Martellus Bennett is someone who should never have a microphone in front of him and his brother as well. Both of those guys are flakes and if you are like me I never trust any man that can't look someone in the eye when he is stating an opinion he has!

Wait, let me get this right...

A guy who had iffy hands, who was pretty clearly linked to be the cause of some Cutler INTs, who bitched all the time, who held out of OTAs, who was a weird dude in general, who likely didn't get along with most in the clubhouse, and STILL had career years with Cutler throwing him the ball, wants to talk any sort of trash whatsoever?

Yeah, glad that dickhead is gone.

That was a good post.

Bennett + Romo = no Pro Bowls

Bennett + Eli Manning = no Pro Bowls

Bennett + Cutler = 1 Pro Bowl

So yes Cutler was clearly the worst of his career QBs.

*Disclaimer* in no way do I support Martellus in his lunacy buuuuuuttttt...

First; he didn't say that he thought Jay was the "worst" QB, his brother did. Secondly; to be fair you have to look at the stats and situation(s) for which he played. Played behind perennial pro bowler Jason Witten (who he's gone on record as saying he hates by the way) in Dallas. Then, as he starts to show promise he had the opportunity to start for NY and took it. After the one year deal there ended he found his way to Chicago. Many of you here said he was an up and comer and that Chicago was wise to get him.

At any rate; am I glad he's gone? Yes. Is he wrong about Cutler throwing into double coverage when he might be open? No.

I will give this to Jay though, he does know when and how to take the high road. This quote on Twitter when asked about Martellus' comments: “Hopefully, Tom, I guess, can do a better job of finding him than I did.”

Bravo Jay, bravo.

To me Martellus was reinforcing his brother's statement. From reviewing games from the last few years, a bunch of INTs were thrown in Bennett's direction. How is Bennett going to take being the #2 TE and at least a 1/3 less targets?

I just didn't like the comments in general. If they wanted to give an honest assessment as him as a player, go for it, but a comment like that is just smug. Those guys would be nothing if not for their physical attributes.
