madlithuanian
Sadly not new news... Virginia McCaskey seems like an absolutely wonderful person. But not a great business owner... Especially in sports. Her apples seem to not fall far from the tree... It's a trickle down business...and it starts at the tippy top. ...and still no honey bears! (couldn't resist) we have the worst owners in Chicago. Ugh! http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...1030-story.html Peace
Chitownhustla
we have the worst owners in Chicago. Ugh! http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...1030-story.html Peace Doesn't this go back to Ted Phillips???? George ran the season tickets before becoming the Chairman, I don't expect him to be a killer in that role right off the bat. I would hope he would learn how to be a good Chairman over time but that is why you have a CEO below George to run the football operations. Ted and George clearly screwed up the Emery hire, so they hire Ernie to help with the next hire. Now they have to hire another consultant??????? Ted Phillips should not be involved in football operations in any way with the Bears. I would really like them to sell the team but, if they won't, then they need to hire someone to run football operations. Peace

Connorbear
Not only in Chicago, but much of the NFL. It is sad what they have done to the leagues founding team. Agreed. This is the first year in 15 years as a season ticket holder where I had problems selling me season tickets. I had to donate several to local charities. I called the Bears ticket office and spoke to a nice young lady about donating a set to Bears Charity. I told her about my dilemma and she said agreed with my sentiments. madlithuanian
I've been getting ticketmaster e-mail to buy tickets. First time I have ever seen that... Agreed. Lucky Luciano
we have the worst owners in Chicago. Ugh! http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...1030-story.html Peace well that sure gives the current football operations personnel a high vote of confidence (not to mention EVERY SINGLE PLAYER on the roster and any future free agents they might wish to acquire). you've just hamstringed the entire coaching staff and ANY future hires THEY want to make. add to that the GM now has absolutely NO faith in management to work with whatever long term plan he implemented when he was hired. what IDIOT'S are actually running this franchise? george the ticket taker? mikey the part time genius, part time gardener? virginia the 200 year old patriarch? sweaty teddy phillips the failed GM, part time bean counter, and full time imbecile? the inmates of the cook county insane asylum? MY opinion: pace.. a young up and coming GM who i still have faith in for at LEAST two more years when his acquisitions will reach maturity in the NFL. i thought and still do think that the fox hire was a great hire along with his support staff. yet the carnival sideshow of freaks running this franchise wonder why we are struggling after ONE AND A HALF YEARS (not to mention half our roster of starters is injured), with a roster that was depleted and run into the ground for over 10 years, and now seek someone else who thinks THEY know something about football to evaluate their hiring!!!! the owners of this franchise have exclusively been involved with NFL football their entire lives!!! this is how they have made their living for over 30 + years!!! how stupid are these people? Sell this franchise for god's sake and give the city of chicago and it's fans a freaking break from this moronic, embarrassing travesty!!! Well said and I couldn't agree more. 18 months into a total rebuild, that they (correctly) started, and yet they hit the panic button. ASHKUM BEAR
Well said and I couldn't agree more. 18 months into a total rebuild, that they (correctly) started, and yet they hit the panic button. If they are reviewing their process up to this point, I am ok with that. Using all the resources available is not always bad. If they are having second thoughts, then they are jeopardizing the start of a process that takes more than 18 months to fulfil. Fox had a tradition on turning teams around by year two, but I don't think he has had this many injuries to work with either. This firm they have hired will probably tell them what most of us see and discuss which is they are on a decent path if they can stay healthy. I am not sure I can take another gm/coach dump. I can see firing the OC after the offseason, especially if they can take a QB early to build around.
