ASHKUM BEAR
What are your thoughts? Going off needs, QB and CB. Top 2 talent may be DE and OLB, so maybe we go there.
Boston Boxer
since we cant rebuild in one year, i say get Peppers with our first round pick and put him at safety (could be our Mike Brown only healthier)...and second round get King CB from Iowa. Don't like any of the QBs this year as a franchise and will wait until next year or trade/sign a vet (Cousins). obviously if Garrett or Allen are there, we cant pass on them
AZ54
I don't know that we can pass on Garrett but Allen is a bit different. I'd love to have Allen in the defensive front with Goldman and Hicks but he's not Ndamukong Suh who went #2 overall. Plus when it comes to evaluating Allen we have to consider that there's a ton of NFL talent playing with him. Alabama has 4 defensive players ranked in the top 18 of the draft, and another DT that's considered a top 25 pick in 2018.

I personally would like us to trade down a bit and grab Jamal Adams/FS. I would think Clev grabs Garret, but may want a QB of which we can get the 10th pick plus there 2nd and 3rd round picks. I know that may be a pipe dream.
jason
I believe my thoughts are pretty clear on this. The QB position is #1 need on the team. Sure, Barkley or Hoyer might be able to keep the team afloat for a while, but neither are consistent NFL-starter quality, and they are a far cry from franchise guys. The QBs available are not worth the #3 pick. There is just no clear cut guy with a consistently dominating body of work, who also possesses the NFL-ready mechanics and decision-making abilities indicative of a top-5 QB. Further, if all indications are true, QBs will drop in this draft, and there's a chance one of the better ones (please be Deshaun Watson) will drop to Chicago in the second round. The Bears are in a very advantageous position of needing multiple positions on offense and defense when the available players will almost all be the #1 guy at that position when they draft. Having said that, I think the two most dominating players available, who also have a high probability of dominating in the NFL, are Myles Garrett and Jonathan Allen. Conveniently enough, they are both perfect fits for a 3-4 DE. An added bonus is that by bolstering the front seven and making QB destruction the #1 priority, the secondary, which is the other weak spot on D, is greatly benefited. So, unless Garrett and Allen go 1-2, then the pick is obvious. The only other logical possibility is a trade down that nets the Bears a bounty to good to pass up. Mongo3451
QB. Only if you like the guy. I am usually a BPA guy, but this is the time you break the rule. Best case scenario, we trade down a couple of slots and still get our guy.
killakrzydav
I think unless Garrett is there it has to be a QB. Watson, Mitch, or the ND bum. I don't see another QB flying up the board but nobody saw Wentz going number two at this time last year either.

I don't see another QB flying up the board but nobody saw Wentz going number two at this time last year either. Look out for Josh Allen out of Wyoming if he comes out. He looks like he could be this years Wentz. Same skills set too, big guy at 6'5" with good mobility. If Garrett and Allen(the DE) are gone I would try to trade down. If you can't trade down, I would go with Adams or the corner out of Bama. The secondary needs to be addressed. Not really high on any of the QBs are a 1st rounder. I'd rather go with a guy like Kaaya in the 2nd.
killakrzydav
Kaaya is straight garbage. As for Allen, I could see some people rate him high but in the games I've watched I've been unimpressed with his accuracy.

He is not coming out this year, but someone to think about in the future. He would benifit from another year of college ball. I dont think any QB is worthy of the #3 spot, so grab the best player available and then draft a prospect with 3 or one of the 4s. So far Im thinking Cooper Rush/CMU, he is accutate and has good size. I havent started to look at prospects yet, but he has some tools. Plus could be got with a 3 or 4th round pick. I read the article. In a way, it's bad form. However, he did say that he'd try to be a franchise player no matter where he goes. I see nothing here. Alaskan Grizzly
It always pisses me off when a player (in this case Garrett) tries to say where he would or would not like to play. Ha. Yeah I'd like to see him try and pull an 'Eli' and say he won't play for a certain place. That would be a punk thing to do. But I think he's more saying he'd prefer not play in cold climates. Can't says as I blame him. Want to say Hester said that once too and he managed. Hell, they said this year was the first time Leonard Floyd had seen or played in snow. Being a cold weather resident sucks. But then if I were making millions to play football; I'd somehow figure out how to cope.
bowlingtwig
Got to go BPA. Honestly to me none of the QB's are worthy of a top 5 selection. Trubisky is just way to raw, not enough playing time especially against top teams. Kizer ive said way to many times that I am a Notre Dame homer but I've got a really bad gut feeling that his game doesn't work well in the NFL. Maybe alot of it is the fact that he loves to improvise and we have seen those type of guys get demolished in the NFL. And finally Watson. For starters he loves to run to much for my like and he takes way to many unnecessary chances especially in double and triple coverage and he gets picked alot. I hate to say it but part of him I see Jay Cutler.

I am not sure he is a top 20 player though. All the QBs will be raw and not NFL ready imo, but eventually you need to develop one. It would be great to trade down to 10 and get Kizer or Joe Allen if he declares.

What I would love to see is Pace take Allen with the 3rd overall pick and then have the QB's slide and if the get to around 15 I would be on the phone trying to use our 2nd rd pick to try and move back into the 1st round to take 1 of those QB's that have slid.
