adam
We were 2-4 in the Division last year on a 3 win team. Let's just say we split and go 3-3. I think we get wins against CLE and SF, that is 5 wins with these 8 games remaining: Falcons (11-5) at Bucs (9-7) Steelers (11-5) at Ravens (8-8) Panthers (6-10) at Saints (7-9) at Eagles (7-9) at Bengals (6-9-1) I can see us beating the Panthers at home and either the Saints or Bengals on the road. That is 7 wins without too much fuss. We play our only Thursday Night game at GB, which was more than likely a loss anyway. So we end up with an extended week to prep for Monday night against Minnesota. We also do not play any teams coming off a bye week. For how bad we were last year, only ATL, NO, PIT, GB, and CIN gained more yards on offense than us (CIN gained 7 more). Only MIN, BAL, PIT, and PHI allowed less yards than us on defense last year. ASHKUM BEAR
That is a really tough early season schedule. The Bears play the toughest strength of schedule the first half of the season, the Steelers have the easiest using last years records. Seems like we've seen a toughest schedule in nfl recently. jason
Bears 2017 Schedule Week 1- Sept 10 Falcons (11-5) - Loss. Their offense is too strong. Week 2- Sept 17 at Bucs (9-7) - Win. Last year was a fluke. Week 3- Sept 24 Steelers (11-5) - Loss. They're one of the elite teams in the NFL. Week 4- Sept 28 at Packers (10-6) (THU) - Win. The last four wins against the Packers have come on Monday or Thursday. Week 5- Oct. 9 Vikings (8-8) (SUN NIGHT) - Win. Extra days to prepare and a seemingly perpetual split with the Queens. Week 6- Oct. 15 at Ravens (8-8) - Win. Their record last year is deceiving. They played a horrible schedule. Week 7- Oct. 22 Panthers (6-10) - Win. One of the worst passing D's in the NFL. Glennon and the new WRs torch them. Week 8- Oct. 29 at Saints (7-9) - Loss. Their offense is too strong. Week 9- Nov. 5 bye Week 10- Nov. 12 Packers (10-6) - Loss. I can't remember the last time the Bears swept the Packers. Week 11- Nov. 19 Lions (9-7) - Win. At Chicago, the Bears were healthy and the offense did what it wanted. At Detroit, Daniel Brown (who?) was instrumental. Week 12- Nov. 26 at Eagles (7-9) - Win. Carson Wentz is still green, throws picks, and they won't be able to dominate TOP now that Jordan Howard is starting. Week 13- Dec. 3 49ers (2-14) - Win. LOL. There is no doubt on this one. Week 14- Dec. 10 at Bengals (6-9-1) - Loss. Week 15- Dec. 16 at Lions (9-7) - Loss. Season split. Seems likely. Week 16- Dec. 24 Browns (1-15) - Win. They're going to stink again, and likely have a rookie QB starting. Week 17- Dec. 31 at Vikings (8-8) - Loss. I'm saying 9-7. And I don't think it's unrealistic. jason
Draft is complete. Anybody have different thoughts? We can be anywhere from 4 wins up to 9. I'm waaaaay less optimistic now. My prediction before was based on the Bears taking advantage of a super deep defensive draft. And potentially trading down. This draft was pretty bad. Other than Jackson, not a single player is likely to even start in 2017. This draft was all about upside, and the hope for a big 2018. I'm guessing 4-5 wins because the holes that existed before the draft still pretty much exist.
