jason
Cleveland is hunting, and wants to move up from 12. https://twitter.com/MikeSilver/status/857307213794349057 Pace has taken calls about the #3 pick. https://twitter.com/CEmma670/status/857251302572789762 Let's make it happen!! Cleveland gives their #12, their 2nd rounder, their 3rd rounder, and a 6th rounder to the Bears for #3.
scs787
There's also a conflicting rumor out there that the Browns want to trade DOWN from 12 and will take Trubisky at 1. That was all from Greg Gabriel. It's gonna be an interesting day.
Mongo3451
I don't mind trading down. If it's me, I wait until we are on the clock. I think the browns take Garrett at one, but would love Trubisky at 3. It's a gamble because of SF needing a QB desperately. Mocks are also coming in with Trubisky coming in at 1... scs787
I'm hoping the Panthers are in love with Fournette and wanna trade ahead of the Jags at 4 so they trade the 8th pick to the Bears. I think there are 5 or 6 guys (not including Garrett)that make sense for the bears so I think 8 is a perfect spot when you consider Garrett, Fournette and probably a few other guys the bears don't need will go before 8. If there's no move down, I'd go Adams. Not only does the team need a safety, but it also needs some leadership and a voice on the defense. Right now--unless the Bears take Watson, anything we do is "Meh"

jason
I love how the Bears pick him, and I immediately get sarcastic emails from friends who are fans of other teams. And then the announcers on ESPN start talking about all the shit he does poorly. <_> Now the #2 pick in the entire NFL draft is going to sit behind Glennon. Just makes no sense whatsoever. So either the Glennon move was horrible, or the Trubisky pick is horrible. No two ways around it. And Trubisky would have been there at #3. Just an overall baffling move. AZ54
I liked Trubisky all along so I'm ok with this. Getting a QB is almost always expensive or just pure dumb luck.
jason
And now the Niners pick Thomas, the guy they were going to pick anyway. Great trade.
adam
What if Cleveland gives us even a bigger haul back including the #12 for him? That is the only way this works. Otherwise, Pace should be fired before tomorrow.
BearFan PHX
Clearly the Browns were on the phone with the Niners, and set the price. This means that we really liked Trubisky, and the scarcity in the market of top quality QBs, or even people that have a CHANCE of being one drives the price here. Remember we bid for Mariotta and Goff too, and failed, so this was Pace's shot I think. We can debate the cost, but with Glennon and Trubisky, we are going to have a QB pretty soon one way or another. And that has a lot of value too. Also, Glennon was courted by multiple teams at a pretty good price. If Trubisky plays well, We have Glennon's contract for 2 years to sell to a team who wouldnt owe him much at ALL, so all that value would be in draft picks to us, and any team, especially one in cap hell could bid. This could be very shrewd indeed.
