Quarterbacks (3): Mike Glennon, Mark Sanchez, Mitchell Trubisky. Grade: B- (immobile top 2 hurt the group, until Trubisky starts, then A)

Running backs (4): Tarik Cohen, Benny Cunningham, Jordan Howard, Taquan Mizzell . Grade: A- (I like this group, good mix of skills, Cohen the wild card)

Fullbacks (1): Michael Burton. Grade: C+ (meh, zone blocking uses one)

Receivers (6): Josh Bellamy, Deonte Thompson, Markus Wheaton, Kevin White, Kendall Wright, Tre McBride. Grade: D- (w/o Meredith we have no true #1 unless White steps up and performs like his draft status)

Tight ends (4): Daniel Brown, Zach Miller, Adam Shaheen, Dion Sims. Grade: B+ (Decent versatile group, good pass catching and blocking)

Offensive linemen (8): Tom Compton, Hroniss Grasu, Charles Leno Jr., Kyle Long, Bobby Massie, Josh Sitton, Bradley Sowell, Cody Whitehair. Grade: A- (Realy dependent on the health of Long and if Leno earns his payday at LT)

Defensive linemen (5): Jonathan Bullard, Eddie Goldman, Roy Robertson-Harris, Akiem Hicks, Mitch Unrein. Grade: A (Might be the best group on the team with Hicks playing at an All-Pro level and the chaos potential of RRH)

Linebackers (8): Sam Acho, Leonard Floyd, Jerrell Freeman, Christian Jones, Nick Kwiatkoski, Pernell McPhee, Danny Trevathan, Willie Young. Grade: B+ (Freeman a tackling machine and Floyd's potential make this a very solid group)

Defensive backs (11): Adrian Amos, Prince Amukamara, Deon Bush, Bryce Callahan, Marcus Cooper, Quintin Demps, Kyle Fuller, Deiondre' Hall, Eddie Jackson, Cre’Von LeBlanc, Sherrick McManis. Grade: C (I am not sold on this group yet, I just haven't seen the results, especially on takeaways)

Specialists (3): Connor Barth, Pat O'Donnell, Andrew DePaola. Grade: C+ (Lost our LS, Barth ok, Megapunt has never lived up to his 70+ yard punt YouTube videos)

For me, the worst group is probably our WR's unless we bring someone else in. Wright is consistent in the slot, but we need teams to fear White, otherwise, it will impact the running game. Also, check out Glennon with and w/o Meredith. He was ok to bad with Meredith and terrible w/o him. This is something to watch. Who is Glennon's go to guy now?

Go to guy as to be White and this should have been Glennon's from day 1 because we have a good idea what Meredith is but this the the season that White comes through or we have to move on from him.

My biggest worry with White is the report the coaches were trying in the offseason to build his self-esteem. I know he has been dealt a bad blow but I hoped he would use this as a motivation.

I am unsure how greatly we have improved the roster from last year considering the money we had available and where we picked in the draft.

Why was Houston cut was it because of his injury and his salary became guaranteed. Might have been prudent to either rest him for the meaningless preseason game and decide if he is worth a roster spot at his salary.

5 RBs (if you count the FB). We don't have room for 4 RBs so one of them is being kept around for special teams and that has to be Cunningham. 5 TEs too with one of them, Braunecker, mostly just a special teams player. Just 5 WRs with one of them, Bellamy, being not much more than a special teams guy. 11 DBs again one of them a pure special teams player, McManis.

Jaye Howard cut so just 5 DTs and 4 OLBs with McPhee coming off injury?

There's too much duplication here especially on the special teams role players. My question is who are we trying to trade and trade for? Or who are we hoping to add via waivers? The position we most need help with is WR but OLB is right there with Houston gone. I don't think anyone is trading for one of the special teams players but I can see someone like Brown or Miller getting traded. WRs will not be a strength of our offense so using 3 TEs during a game figures to be on the table. If you want to do that consistently then you likely need 4 on the roster. Did we hedge that by keeping Braunecker around until the dust settles? Same goes for either Cunningham or Langford if someone is really in need of RB help. It just feels like Pace is holding onto some cards for special teams until he sees who he ends up with and then he'll cut someone.

I'll wait to see what the 53 looks like Monday night.

For all the Gentry fans, myself included, my one question with him was why didn't we see him being productive on more types of routes? Still I thought either he or Davis would stick but I wouldn't be surprised to see at least one, if not both, on our practice squad. In contrast I think we can move on from Braverman even in terms of a practice squad spot.

I think they must be waiting for Wheaton to come back to hold down the TEs and RBs with a FB.

If it stays as it is, this is a two TE power running game and expect the D to be very good.

I think as they may add another WR, they let everybody set there practice squads and have a better chance of one of the TEs to be released and brought back on the PS. Baunnecker comes to mind.

Wheaton is expected to be back after one week so I still expect them to add one WR to complete the squad.

I also see them maybe having Brown line up at WR on some sets, he use to be one.
