Connorbear
Being a loyal Lovie fan even I realized the mistakes he's made in the past with O coordinators (or was it Cutler screwing it up?)...anyhow... But to compare the 'revolving door' philosophy of OC's with Lovie and Fox is not fair, not to Fox anyhow. Since he's been with the team, who have his OC's been? Gase and Loggains. Gase is off doing his thing in Miami and Loggains...well he's in Chitown doing his thing, whatever that is. If you look at Loggain's past all he's been is a quarterback's coach for Tennessee, Cleveland and Chicago before getting where he is now. And no he wasn't in Tennesse when Mairota was there. He was promoted to their OC after Chris Palmer was fired in 2012. Personally I think, if Fox stays, he should be given another shot with a different OC. Potentially losing both Fox and Fangio would equate a rebuild to me. What quality coach is taking the OC position for the last year of Fox's contract? Alaskan Grizzly
Exactly. Everything is centered around trubisky. My biggest problem with fox is often we get thumped. I saw a list on Twitter of comparing every HC we've had some Lovie was let go and it was centered around how often they lose by 20 or more pts. With fox that number is around 20% if the time. The highest by a large margin over every one else. Trestman was really high as well but around 13% while everyone else was less than 10. So fox's teams here are getting thumped in a greater % of the time and the fact the he has never won a game here that he was supposed to win is very glaring. In 3 yrs here what's his greatest win. 2015 against GB? And if I'm not mistaken that was the game Rodgers got hurt early in the game. This yr against the Steelers? Not much of a resume. His resume is what got him the job here but I'm not keeping someone around based on what they did prior to here. In this business it's all about what have you done for me lately. So I ask everyone what has fox done for us since he's arrived to justify us keeping him around even longer? I'm sick of hearing about what he did in Carolina or Denver. He's been here 3 years. Which is long enough to evaluate him Again, don't ignore the 'talent' that Pace has cultivated for Fox to work with. Fangio, to his credit is doing a pretty good job. Loggains? Not so much. Or is it the 'talent'? You have a handful of D2 players and Trubisky trying to learn the NFL level of play with Loggains leading the way. Fox was able to some pretty impressive things with the likes of Delhomme and Tebow. I don't think that can be discounted, even if it was some time ago. So instead I'm guessing you'd prefer an unproven coach and hope for a McVay (sp?)? That hope could just as easily flop and set our team back even further than what it is now. Peace One that knows he (Fox) gets renewed if the team goes to the playoffs or beyond next year. If Trubisky is 'it' then that's all our team needs, is someone who could develop him right? As others have pointed out, Fox has proven he can surround himself with good coaches. He did it with Fangio.

He did it with Fangio. Ok but these coaches like stability. They like guarantees. Can anyone guarantee that fox is going to get an extension at this point. Fox needs to go on an epic SB run in order for me to see him getting that extension. Now with that in mind let's say the offense does well but the defense bombs out. Fox and the coaching staff gets canned which then means that coach is 1 and done. We've seen this play out before and it rarely ever pays off. And I've never seen it pay off for a team is horrible as we are at this point
jason
The only question Pace really needs to answer is if this offensive coaching staff can successfully develop Trubisky. He is the future of this franchise (good or bad). If he feels they are not, then Fox needs to go because we've already seen what happens with the revolving door at offensive coordinator under Lovie. Peace Excellent summary and spot on. That's all that matters in the near-term.
