What if the Bears were healthy?

Suppose the Bears were one of the healthiest teams in the league instead of one of the most injured? What scenarios would have played out? What would the record be?

The first thing I think of is Kevin White. If he didn't get injured again, would he have blossomed into a star WR this year? Would his ascendancy have led to Glennon performing better and keeping the job?

Impossible to know but sometimes fun to speculate. Sometimes it's depressing. I don't think Kevin White would have helped Glennon simply because Glennon didn't like throwing to him. When I was at the preseason game against the Cardinals Glennon rolled out of the pocket (slowly) and threw right over a wide open Kevin White into triple coverage 15 yards behind him. Cam Meredith OTOH would have helped Glennon quite a bit. Until we got Inman he was the only guy who could get open beyond 10 yards on his own. Of course none of that would help Glennon be more accurate so we'd still see Trubisky on the field but maybe they'd have split the season.

This team was more competitive until we lost Zach Miller. It's not like the offense was really good but when he was out there we had more consistency.

Look back at the season and how many games we were in up to the end against good teams: Atlanta, New Orleans (partially stolen by idiots in NYC IMO), the vaunted Vikings beat us 20-17 without any ILB left except Christian Jones. On top of that we beat the Steelers and Panthers. People say those were anomalies but then what we were doing being so close in those games against Atlanta, NO, and the Vikings?

In the end injuries are why you need depth on the roster. That takes years to build. We're still trying to finish out the top end of the roster let alone the 2nd tier.

This team has been handcuffed with injuries for way too long. Going back to our first change coaching switch it has continued to get worse.

The last 3 yrs really stick out of all 5 you posted. Any coincidence that's exactly when the current coaching staff took over. They come in and it got worse

I glanced at New England, they are typically higher, but I didn't look at who the players were. I think it also makes a difference getting a QB in place along with a system.

QB makes a huge difference. In NE they suffer a ton of injuries and to key guys like gronk and amendola but the offense doesn't seem to suffer even though they have never had much of a running game. But as long as Brady is back there all is good. He turns mediocre guys into pretty solid guys. We saw it all the time with Peyton Manning as well. Even Favre did it all the time. Having that position hides so many issues

To add to your comment......Rodgers has hid the fact that GB is not that good of a TEAM without him. Ted Thompson is getting ripped apart for the roster he has built.

Your absolutely right. That defense is a joke and even before Rodgers went down everyone was talking about that oline. I was watching a game with the fiancee (who's a packers fan) and she even said then Rodgers won't make it half the year. Just a couple weeks later he went down.
