jason
Picture this... Biggest game of the year. Overtime. 2nd/26 at the opposing 41, and they have to score at least a FG. (PS. Their kicker sucks.) Your base defense is set. It's all you really know or do because you're not an outside the box thinker. And when you DO make changes, they're not really in reaction to counteracting the offense. They're just changes for the sake of change. But it's all part of the plan! You intend to confuse the opposing QB not with alterations and adjustments, but with the decision of which QB is most open. You've fully explained position to the safeties, but not philosophy. "They're athletes," you think to yourself, "they can recover." What do you do? What do you call? Doesn't matter. Everything you did blows up in your face because you're... MEL FREAKING TUCKER I'm so glad that moron isn't on the Bears' staff any more.

Yeah when Georgia was ahead I saw after a pretty nice stop by the Dawg defense they scanned over and showed Tucker...I about choked. Was thinking ‘why couldn’t he do stuff like that in Chicago’? But then Bama brought out the Freshman QB and he had no answer for it. Pathetic. I was cheering for Georgia with a friend of ours thinking Georgia would avenge Atlanta’s stunning loss in last season’s super bowl. Nope. The only reason Mel Tucker has been successful in Georgia is because he essentially gets multiple first and second round "draft picks" (i.e. big time recruits) each year for his defense. https://georgia.247sports.com/Season/2018-Football/Commits Then he takes those "draft picks" and undercoaches them against, for the most part, a mix of 1st-5th round draft picks. It's only when he plays against another team with similar draft picks that his incompetency shows.
