BearFan PHX
We're not done on the OL. In free agency I think we are at that point where there are a bunch of equally rated players around, and no one wants to be first to pay one. Pace is smart to bide his time. I also think that we will probably be taking an OG or OT in the 2nd round. Don't sleep on the OT position, no ones talking about it, but we may be looking there more than OG. I see at least 2 more players coming at OL before the draft and free agency are over.

There are a lot of ways to improve the line, and that's another reason why waiting for bargains in free agency makes sense. But I think we need an OG/OC AND an OT. We'll see what happens... I dont think we are going to take Nelson, if Chubb or Edmunds is there too.

I think they will definitely draft a OG or OC and even a OT later in the mid rounds to groom to take Massies place.

I think they will definitely draft a OG or OC and even a OT later in the mid rounds to groom to take Massies place. Could be. Even if you're right about Kush though I think they will make another OL free agency move, for the sake of competition. I do agree they obviously arent that excited about any of the free agent OL that are left standing out vs any others. They'll probably pick one up after someone else signs one first and the prices fall. Ditto at DE. But you're right, the more significant moves will be in the draft, and unless it's Nelson, I think it'll be the second round pick. It is possible if an impact defender is still avail in the 2nd we will wait, but without a 3rd we wait until the 4th round, and that's a big drop off. Either way, we're going to be a couple good players short of a complete team this year. I think we will take Edmunds at ILB, which will be GREAT in the 1st. But then in the 2nd we really need another player on D, at DE or OLB AND we need OL. I think we will take best player available of Edge Rusher/OLB, DE or OL. And then we are fishing in the 4th to answer a few remaining needs. We will be a couple players short this year, but we are that close to being a complete team, and we oughtta be looking much better. The actual "window" opens in 2019. Exciting to be so close. This will be a fun team to root for. 9-7 would be awesome.
Mongo3451
If Nelson is there, he's ours. Otherwise, pass rush is next. I can see us taking 2 OL and 2 front 7.
ASHKUM BEAR
I wouldn't sell Morgan ,who we drafted last season, short either. He was regarded highly when we took him and I think we stashed him knowing he could compete for a starting role year two. He is also someone who could play T. Keeping my fingers crossed that Pace and company knew this when release Sitton. Jordan Morgan, G, Kutztown Height: 6-2. Weight: 313. Arm: 33.25. Hand: 10. 40 Time: 5.36. Projected Round (2017): 3-5. 4/25/17: Sources say that the small-school prospect is a potential third-day offensive lineman who could rise. Morgan had a decent Senior Bowl week in Mobile, holding his own against the better competition. Morgan has good size and is strong at the point of attack. Some team contacts have said they think he could be a lesser version of Ali Marpet, who was a Division III player, yet ended up being a second-round pick to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Sources said that Morgan was being graded in the fourth or fifth round before the Senior Bowl

If Nelson is there its a no brainier but after that a edge rusher.

He played hurt so production was down, but think he could be a top pick based off previous performance. He tested well too, so watch him creep up mocks. BearFan PHX
I agree with a lot of what's been said here. I'm just not sure that if Nelson, Chubb (Landry?) and Edmunds are there that Nelson would be the pick. He's awesome, but so is Edmunds. If Nelson is there its a no brainier but after that a edge rusher. I don't see how he holds up setting the edge on run downs in this defense. I love his first step quickness but at this point I see him as a pass rush specialist in our scheme, albeit a productive one. I'd take him in Rd 2 but not at #8. If we trade back quite a bit in Rd 1 I'd have his name there on the board too.

He has a similar build to Vic Beasley and he is an everyday player.
lemonej
Jordan Morgan is a name I too think about when it comes to the OL.He is a Pace draft pick and has not seen the field which is unusual under this GM. I personally prefer a trade back scenario and grab another Hiestand student McGlinchey to plug in on the right side until they realize Leno was a 7th round pick for a reason. As far as the draft is concerned I like Edmunds with the 8th pick and with 39 I could see Oregon OT Tyrell Crosby being an interesting choice with ties to the OC. I completely forgot about Jordan Morgan. But why didn’t we activate him last year? There were games we missed both starting guards. How could he not see the field? Connorbear
Morgan never saw the field because he hit the IR during preseason if I'm not mistaken He was on IR but I wonder how serious the injury really was. I look at it as a chance for them to essentially 'redshirt' him. Peace
jason
I'm all aboard the OL train. More protection for Trubisky means more time for him to throw, and less worry for a young QB. We all saw how a perpetually shit OL can alter a good QB into a timid QB with bad footwork.
Stinger226
It wouldn't bother me one bit if we took OL in the first 2 rounds and grabbed all edge rusher prospects with the rest of our picks.

Mongo3451
I wouldn't mind drafting two OL and the rest for the front 7. Gotta protect and get after the QB.
