We have a team that can get us to 10-6 but also is capable of 7-9. If we keep the mistakes at a minimum we will be in every game. MT needs to have more positive plays than negative and we will have a shot in every game. We are still not among the best teams in the NFC we can still get better every week and a shot at the playoffs.

Positives: A. Hicks played very well

MT played well in the second half

Howard played up to the role he is destined for in this offense. Play well at the end of the game and consume the clock.

                 The OL played well

Negatives:   Long got hurt

A lack of pressure on the QB

                     No TOs

We won 24-10 so no matter how we do it ,whether 3-2  or 48-10, the only thing that counts is we won the game.

Good win, not perfect by any stretch but they got the job done and beat a team the should beat.  Coupled with losses by GB (very satisfying loss to watch), Detroit, and Minny, we are now back in 1st place.  One thing for sure the NFC north is up for grabs.   We face a struggling Bills team while the vikings have a home game against the Lions and the Packers go on the road again and face a surging Pats team.  We could theoretically lead the division at 5-3 and GB in dead last at 3-4-1, and the winner of the Detroit/Minny game being in second place.

As for today's game, we took care of business.  It wasn't flashy.  No turnovers by either team though Darnald had a fumble but recovered it.  It was nice to see Howard a little more involved in the game.  I agree with the other comments on how he just doesn't look like the same back but in his defense Howard isn't the type of back that thrives on a handful of carries sprinkled in.  he's a back that needs volume to get into a rhythm.  As the weather turns colder we might start seeing him get more action.  I felt like Trubiskey was more on target and more decisive today.  Still had some bad throws at times but overall felt he played more composed today.  The D did what they needed to keep the Jets off the board for the most part.  3rd downs still seem to be an issue as too often get teams to 3rd and even 3rd and long and let them off the hook.  Jackson made a bonehead decision on a third down stop to give them a new set of downs and lead to their lone TD at the time pulling them to within 7.  Can't make those kinds of mental mistakes against a good team.  Just gotta play smart.  I hope Long's injury isn't season ending.  Not only for the team but for Kyle to have fought through so many injuries already.  There were missed opportunities on both sides of the ball.  But at the end of the day we get a needed win to snap a two game losing streak.  At this point with the division being the way it is, the Bears control their own destiny.  Keep winning and you make the playoffs.  Hopefully we don't look past the Bills to the three division games ahead.  Next week could be a trap game if we're not careful.

Unless Howard does something explosive, I am starting to think he is not going to be that valuable going forward. On some of his runs, a simple cut-back and he would have a huge gain, but he misses it and gets 2 yards.  Really odd, he is also not running as hard as I remember him running. Breaking very few tackles.

It looks like the Bears brought out some of "last years" rushing plays in the 2nd half. Howard was far more protective. It just appears that a lot of the Bears runs with Howard, they literally ask him to stop and than accelerate again and that is not his Forte. It ends up with him getting popped by linemen at the LOS too many times. If you let him go and pick his lane he is a much better back. His vision has always been a plus but there has been something really odd about his runs this year (it is as if they are designed for a shifty back like Cohen...which is not what Howard is).

I think they got enough on film to start getting a bit more creative and effective with Howard (couldn't come soon enough timing wise, since we are heading into colder weather and divisional opponents).

Hard for me to evaluate Mitch's accuracy on the deep balls or the kicking game given how much the winds were swirling (sometimes it looked calm...other times it looked like a disaster).  Either way, they did what they needed to. Much cleaner performance by the D. Despite the lack of a pass rush, they were tighter in their coverage and much crisper with their tackling. I'll take it...albeit it was against one of, if not the worst offensive units in the league.

Also, a nice win when you consider Robinson and Mack did not play. Sucks to see Long go down. We are now thin on the O-Line with Kush out. However, if Kush comes back, then we will be ok next week. Next up, Buffalo.

I have a feeling we'll see Robinson and Mack out again this week. Really sucks regarding Long.  Was so glad he finally seemed to be "healthy" this year. I hope somehow this is one of those miraculous plays where everything sounds and looks horrid and than magically the diagnosis is much better.

By the way...it needs to be said, but Leno is a good left tackle. Not bad, not okay, but good, if not very good. He has been a great find by the front office and was a great early extension by Pace.  Really the whole line has been good...hopefully Kush can come back in and fill the void lost from Kyle Long. The only thing I want them to keep improving is the run blocking, which hasn't been as good as it should be, but it has been trending upwards the past couple of weeks.

The accuracy issues with the long balls looks like it could be a timing issue. It's like Mitch is trying to find that sweet spot.  Something that needs more work in practice.  At least in most cases he's erring to the side of caution and overthrowing rather than under throwing where the DB has an opportunity to locate the ball for an INT.  So while it's frustrating to watch passes sail over the WR's head it's better than making his WR become a DB and have to try to break up an INT.
