Bears at Lions Official Game Thread (Thu, Nov 22, 11:30 AM CST/CBS/Bears -4, O/U 45.5)

Here we go! Another division game and a chance to go to 8-3 with a few extra days of rest after Thursday's game.

Detroit is decimated with injuries and will more than likely be without Kerryon Johnson and Marvin Jones. They already traded Tate, so they will literally have two receiving threats, Golladay and Riddick. No other player has more than 12 receptions or 100 yards receiving. There leading rusher will be Blount (who I believed burned us a few years ago). Payback is a bitch. Sweeping the Lions in the season series on Thanksgiving would be sweet.

I heard this is the quickest two-game span in NFL history (from the end of the Sunday night game until kickoff on Thursday morning). If so, that's crazy too.

8-3 and 3-1 in the division would be great. Especially if minny were to fall to Green Bay. They’d both be at 5-5-1. What would really be funny is if they tied again. They’d be 4-5-2 lol not likely though. Get the win and a much needed rest.  Almost like a mini bye.

We face a depleted Lions team who are coming off of a win that was an accurate Newton pass away from a loss. We can’t let this be a trap game. We’re coming off a huge win in a hard fought game. I don’t feel like we’ll overlook them. Our D should feast on them all day. This could be similar to the Bills game. Where the offense isn’t asked to do a lot.

Losing Kerryon Johnson is huge for their offense.  Against the Bears last week he was easily their most productive running back.  Add in being down another WR and Stafford's options will be very limited.  This is an interesting short week since both teams will have played each other 10 days ago.  There's not much time for game planning but there are adjustments that can be made.  With Mitch being a "reps" guy this is a rare opportunity to see the same defense so quickly, except they will likely have Slay back on the field.  It's Nagy's play calling I'm most curious to see versus the last game.  You know he'll have a few twists added in but on a short week with both teams coming off physical games the most obvious thing I'd like to see is Howard getting 20 carries versus the 11 he had in the last game.  If that doesn't happen and we still put up another 40pts so be it.

Thursday night football + divisional game. I presume this is going to be a wild one and hopefully the Bears can pull it out (and make it out of the game healthy)!!!

I thought this game was the first of 3, and played at 1 pm. NOT a NIGHT GAME, I think.

Yeah they are airing it here in Alaska at 0830 AM which would be 1230 EST.  I know this because I negligently signed up for the annual Family Turkey Trot 5k that morning.  My wife and I are now discussing possibly hiring attorneys to settle the dispute.  ?

It'll be 3 pm here, with 85 degrees. But we're going to be in the US for Christmas this year and I can't wait to experience some football weather (yea, in Florida and So. Cal) to root us on!

Yeah, Lions still without Johnson and Jones, and Tate gone.

I am thinking 27-17, our offense is a TD worse than last game and our defense allows 5 less points. Daniel throws for 200+, 2 TD's.

Burton singlehandedly losing the game for the Bears. A fumble in our zone that resulted in a Lions TD, an easy drop, and a stupid holding penalty.

Daniel looks pretty good,  a little concerned that our defense won't have energy to finish this out.

My ? is, where is this D? I see so much about inconsistency on the O side. But these Lion's drives late in the game are not what a solid, dominating D allows.

Hey, I think I'm going to finish the season with that previous post. Jackson answers!!!

Huge win, amazing determination by this team. 3 wins in 11 days, all division wins, incredible.

Eddie Jackson is a playmaker, high football IQ on perfectly timed pick 6. Then Kyle Fuller seals it with interception in the end zone (thanks Matt Stafford).

Daniel did a solid job, no turnovers for him was enough. Missed a few throws but on a short week, he did a great job. 2 TDs and no picks.

Pathetic that they didn’t get Howard the rock much, much more. That should have been the game plan. I am happy Daniel didn’t ruin the game, but why they didn’t lean on the run a ton more is a complete mystery.

Jason, I get ya, but this is not the old Bears. Nagy's got a plan, and for the record, I trust him. What's our record now? Oh, and with RB yds so low? Who cares. We are WINNING!

Howard had 1.9 yards per carry, if we gave him the ball more, we would've probably lost. Howard can't make guys miss, and unless he has a hole, he is not very effective. Half the time he is running into the back of O-Lineman, when a simple cutback would be a huge gain. Look at Blount, who actually did that a few times.

I could care less how we are winning, especially in a game like this. There are zero style points in football, just play to win.

IMdO, Howard is a stud, and has proved it through his years as apro. Just be patient, there will be a game here that Nagy uses Howard's skills. Hey, can you say Matt Suey? This is a team, they all--coaches/players-- are showing it.

Is Howard unhappy? Don't know (and I don't really care as long as the O is working). I think Howard is going to be a key to our run when the weather turns bad.

We will see.
