Looking ahead (2022 Cap Situation)

So 2022 is where the team is in a much better cap situation. They can save $12.9M by cutting Quinn as a post-June 1 cut and $7M on Foles next offseason. So $20M off the books is a nice chunk of change without losing any performance. Mack is also an easy candidate for a restructure at $30M. Graham comes off the books, so the only guys with a cap hit north of $10M would be Mack, Jackson, Whitehair, and Goldman. Even before the Quinn and Foles moves, the team would have around $40M to play with, so $60M is more than enough money to resign current guys and bring in a couple of impact FAs.

Starters that need new contracts:
Robinson (UFA - 2022)
Daniels (UFA - 2022)
Mustipher (ERFA - 2022)
Hicks (UFA - 2022)
Nichols (UFA - 2022)
Gipson (UFA - 2022)
Trufant (UFA - 2022)
O'Donnell (UFA - 2022)
Scales (UFA - 2022)

Using Over the Cap info , we only have 28 players signed for 2022 with 50 mil cap space.  That does not include the rookie contracts yet. Interesting tidbit,  the Bryd signing was a vet minimum,  so he only counts 250 thousand towards the cap . Grab more of these kind of contracts.  I think it's at the point of the season,  players just want to make sure they can get on a roster and not looking for big money.

So 9 starters, 7 draft picks, 4 UDFAs would make 48 players with only 5 more for the 53 and 3 for the top 51. Still not bad, especially if we can jettison Quinn and Foles, we would have $20M more with zero drop off.
