Stinger226
I agree we are setup to have a potent offense. I think the Oline is going to turn in to a strength by the end of the season. Dont overlook our running game either.

The reason I've been suspicious about the defense is only because the offense looks stocked. Not proven (yet) but stocked.
Stinger226
A lot of people are down with expectations because of a shaky QB situation but I think this is more of a 2018 team than the last two yrs. RBs is absolutely a strength. I think Pace fixed the Oline (finally) and have given us a WR room that could be one of the best in the league. TE has a potential top 10 TE in Kmet. And with Fields and Dalton, the best potential in yrs. I think the D with come back and be a top 10 defense this yr. That all tells me , a 11-12 win season and capable of a playoff run. I think it all depends on how they gel, and what kind of identity they establish. I think it's really hard to predict an outcome, since they could fail to gel like some Yankees teams have, perhaps missing a pass rush, and with bad playcalling from Nagy, or they could find themselves and dominate and make a Super Bowl run. Of course, you're probably right to be between those extremes, but there is more chaos in the predicted outcome this year due to potential, but also newness and past examples of coaching mistakes. I'd fell better about the defense if I wasn't worried about Quinn and Mack. I could be more confident of what's going on in the secondary if I knew we had a dominant pass rush. And we might. When he's good Mack is one of the best in the league, let's hope that happens again this year. So from 6-11 to a Super bowl run, are all possible outcomes for this team. It means there is a lot of hope for the future, and a lot to root for. This will be a fun season for sure. Justin Fields makes all the difference. Stinger226
I watch some film on Darnell Mooney both highlights and all the times he was opened and overthrown by the terrible two of last year. He could be a star type player with Fields. I'll try to transfer files here from Twitter.

OMG yes, 61 receptions on 98 targets, and over half of the non-receptions were terrible throws by the QB and should've been receptions. He should've had closer to 75 receptions and 800 yards receiving.
Bill
If I read the schedule right for preseason games the Bears are on live all three weeks. Funny how drafting a QB changes thinks.
Stinger226
Wait till Fields takes over, the end of the yr with flexible national games, we will unfortunately be in prime time to much.

Funny how drafting a QB changes thinks. It is funny how that works. The NFL and media basically crap on Fields leading up to the draft, and now spotlight him in the preseason with all 3 games televised. All of Fields' jerseys are top 10 sellers online and I am sure they are watching the search hits and seeing the national interest in Fields. What a difference a few years make. The Bears were the clown shoes of the league for trading up for Trubisky and now we get to see Trubisky vs Fields on national TV in the preseason lol.
