The real issue is that nobody knows if we have anyone else capable of being a WR2

This was more to the point.  I think Mooney benefited from having a capable receiver in ARob on the roster (himself a 1,000 yd receiver x2 while with Chicago).  But in that case it was more a reversal of roles where ARob was the #1 and Mooney #2.  Now thta Mooney is the only WR on the roster that has any real time with Fields, who on the roster is going to help Mooney keep his stats up, aka draw away attention.

A #1 is more defined by targets and production. The top targeted WRs are usually the best statistical WR. So if Mooney gets the same targets but is more  efficient, he's doing 100 and and over 1200, that's top 12.  Kent and Monty will be successful this yr. That's 3 solid weapons. You add in V. Jones, Pringle, St Brown, Sharpe, Herbert and Ebner. We will have plenty of support for a good offense.  The key will be a better Fields and better coaching. I think that has the potential for us to have a breakout season.
