adam
So if the season ended today, the Bears are WC3:
adam
If Detroit loses on MNF to SEA, the Bears would actually move up to WC6 and DET would drop out and DAL would move into WC7. So a DET win would make the WC Round game CHI (7) at TB (2). A DET loss and it's still CHI (6) at TB (3).
Bears4Ever_34
It really blows that the NFC North just happens to be the best division in football the year the Bears get the #1 pick. I was banking on MIN being one of the worst teams in football (yikes) because I didn't believe in Darnold. There's still a long way to go in the year, but I don't see MIN slowing down anytime soon. They easily have the best combo of OC/DC in the NFL right now. If they are a real contender this season, I think the Bears playoff hopes are all but diminished, barring Caleb Williams playing close to out of his mind down the stretch, which seems unlikely and unfair. I don't trust Minnesota's offense just yet, but it does feels like Darnold is doing a Geno 2.0, which is possible. I still think there will be a market correction there. It's funny because if SEA beats DET tonight, the only 2 undefeated teams would be SEA and MIN, led by Geno Smith and Sam Darnold. That would've been a Simpson's episode joke just 4 years ago. The scary part to Minnesota is the defense, 16 sacks, 8 INT in 4 games. That is crazy. Also because they always have a lead, teams have to pass more against them, leading to more INTs and sacks. Pat Jones, who, leads them with 5 sacks. Kamu Grugier-Hill leads them in INTs with 2, who? He is on his 7th team in 7 years and now magically figures things out at 30? Blake Cashman leads their team in tackles. All 3 of those guys are LBs or OLBs. Damn Flores.

Was it two yrs ago where Minny had the best record late in the season and fell on their face in the playoffs. Its a tough division but I find confort in we may have the best QB in the league more so next yr going forward. Love has played very well but still question how much the coach has to do with that. adam
The Bears are also 9-8 in their last 17 games. Their pts/g is 21.3 and pts/g against is 18.6 over those 17 games. The needle is pointing up.
adam
Bears are now WC2, the 6th Seed, at 3-2. If the season ended today, they would be playing the 3-seed, Seattle.
adam
After SF beat SEA, the Bears are still WC2, the 6th Seed, at 3-2. If the season ended today, they would be playing the 3-seed, Atlanta.
adam
If the season ended this week, the entire NFC North would be in the playoffs. Crazy. #1 Seed, WC1, WC2, and WC3.
Stinger226
Its never happened before but is possible this year, not a lot of strong teams in the NFC. Adam could the four teams make it to the final 4 teams in the NFC without playing each other?

Absolutely, with the Division Winner getting the bye, the other 3 North teams could all get a WC slot and would be on the road against the other Division winners. They could all win on the road then we would have GB at MIN and CHI at DET with the current seeding in the Divisional Round. WAS and maybe a healthy SF team seem like the only two teams that could upset that from happening. TB seems like the only team threatening for a WC spot, but they also would be battling it out with ATL for the Division.
