There is zero doubt, absolutely zero doubt that Caleb Williams is elite, and a franchise QB. He just torched the Vikings vaunted defense for 330 passing yards and 2 TDs while scoring on back to back drives in less than 30 seconds. Unbelievable poise. Regardless of the outcome, we have our QB.

We come back and in overtime get the coinflip. We have momentium and Caleb holds the ball to long  and takes a sack, gets us in a hole we cant climb out of. This is what rookie QBs do shows greatness and ends  the game with 2 mistakes.

That was absolutely on Caleb, but where is the dump off, hot route, no one open. He is forced to be Superman. That is going to happen.

That's when a  veteran would have thrown it away. They had max protect called. Caleb is going to be the bomb one day but we arent good enough with our roster and definitley will be getting a new coach. You guys do realize if we were winning these games Flus would be coming back. Its a double edged sword. This game seals his fate.

Lots of things to look at but that returned punt mistake was the play that sealed it for us. We are just not good enough to overcome a handful of flubs. Om the positive side CW has greatness on the horizon and didnt see anyone laying down.

Yeah, pretty much. Also, if they just went for the XP, that last second FG would've won it.

Allen was targeted 15 times in the loss. He may be a problem. Moore was targeted 7 times for 7 receptions. Kmet had 10 targets and 7 receptions.

In the 5 straight losses, Allen has 56 targets, 24 receptions, 1 TD

If it wasn't the Bears it is probably a good idea. If you get it, you can win with a TD+XP or tie with 2x FGs. If you don't get it, you can still tie with a TD+2PT.

no, it is a BAD idea. you always take the points unless time and score dictate. to give up a field goal from where they were at in the THIRD QUARTER is criminally stupid. that call is the assumption that your opponent will never score again in a quarter and a half.

we got beat every way possible: the other teams play, our poor play and penalties, BAD coaching, the REFS. this is a shite show.

THIS.

If we had simply kicked the extra point, and everything else had been the same, we win in regulation. Our coaching is the worst.

In fairness they wouldn’t have went for 2 - so it would have been a tie either way. You want to question a move question when they went for it on 4th. Not that I understood why they went for 2 early in the game.

They outplayed Minny all game but had some costly 3rd down drops..a Keenan toes drop a great play and than a stupid muffed punt and some tough PI’s when Bears didn’t get the call (Odunze on the Moore pass was a total PI).

I hear ya, but its just another inexplicable Matt Eberflus move. I also agree they should have kicked the field goal instead of going for it on 4th down.

Caleb is obviously going to be a real star - lets give him a real coach, and lets let that coach pick his staff without the Bears forcing him to retain anyone. If he chooses to retain people, great, but thats gotta be his decision 100%.

How about launching Hightower with him. Blocked FGs in back to back games? Terrible coverage and return units. Almost always a penalty on kicks/punts, and then the muffed punt. What exactly is Hightower getting paid to do?

some of this has to go on santos. yesterdays for sure. he is not getting the elevation to his kicks and they are being blocked at the line of scrimmage. that is totally unacceptable. it's all in the 40's range just like it was two? years ago when he was all over the place. he has now cost us 2 games. hot and cold seasons seem to be his norm.

that said, it is also on the coaching staff. flus for not trying to gain a few yards more with johnson in the packer game. at least this game is on hightower for not realizing the problem with his kicker and practicing it ALL week to change his trajectory. it is also on hightower for not getting the special teams linemen all on the same page in blocking.

Oh absolutely, he has a low trajectory from distance but this is not something new. Watch the MIN GWFG, the OL actually gets push and protects the flight of the ball. The Bears guys are flat footed and get run over. They need to be attacking. I have no idea why they are not trying to push forward and engage vs waiting to get bulled over.

The same with the muffed punt and penalty on ST. There are about 10-15 ST snaps a game. The Bears can't afford to have 3-4 negative plays a game on those snaps.

All falls on Flus. It is his staff for ST and he's responsible.
