Bears4Ever_34
I think the Bears are the only team in history to play with even less effort for their interim HC in his 1st game than they did for the guy who was fired. Truly a remarkable organization we have going on here.

Enter the Bears I felt there was a lot of good effort from many players. Dexter. Edward’s. Pickens was a pleasant surprise on some plays. Sweat was getting pressure and Booker was his usual self running all over the field. I believe Booker is going to a very good player for us long term. On offense Caleb was playing tough. Rome fought for a few contested catches. Above all I felt that these coaches are way in over their head on game planning. Then the players who are ready for vacation. Jaylon Johnson, Edmunds, Stevenson, and Jonathon Owens didn't want to be there yesterday. There were a lot of business decisions being made on defense. Even Mr Football Jack Samborn didn’t touch a guy down after he caught the ball and almost let him roll into the end zone.

The Sanborn thing was crazy, when you do allow a guy to catch a pass in the field of play and just stare at him. Why was he not diving at the guy fighting for the ball? I saw a lot of effort too - at least early. I saw body language that said they were ready to win and really wanted it. I also saw lack of focus and concentration too. So there's desire, and then there's discipline which is a habit, and not one we have no matter how much we might want it. We need a real coach who starts in training camp instilling the habits that show up on game day in December. This roster has talent, but this is not a team. Youre right. It SHOULDN'T be that way. They SHOULD have more info than we do, and they should outpick us. But they don't. Maybe we are smart. Maybe they are dumb. Maybe the McCaskeys hire morons because they look for beta guys that don't threaten them. I don't know what it is. But on the good teams in this league, the GMs should know more than we do, and do better than we do. But I gotta admit you're right. We have absolutely sucked at picking players, and I believe there are several people on this board who could have done better. And probably some who would have done worse too LOL But this has been a long simmering debate, and I'm going to call it, and say it clearly - you were right. BTW-I’ve always contended that it’s just for the Bears. Maybe a few other perennial losers. But not applicable to the Niners, Ravens, Steelers, etc.

Not only would several people on this board do better, I think anyone could probably read the magazines and watch the pods and do better without any football knowledge. Ridiculous. Ridiculous. yeah, and that is such a scathing indictment of our team, because it shouldn't be the case at ALL. They do have access to all kinds of information and interviews that we will never have, and they still cant get it right. I hate the idea that the mccaskeys have to sell the team before we can get better, and maybe we can find the right GM and coach to work around them, but they sure have been an obstacle, and maybe they really do need to be gone before we can be a real franchise. It's WAY too late now, but why the hell did I have to become a Bears fan when i was a kid? LOL
