Unless we get a guy that will be a true difference maker, I think a trade down is in order.  IOL is the deepest it's been in years for this draft.  We can easily what we need in rounds 2-4.

If there is another Brock Bowers it there, I'm taking him.  Oddly enough, Ashton Jeanty intrigues me in the same way Jamir Gibbs did when drafted by Detroit.

If true, that the line will be beefier and stronger, I may be leaning toward a bell cow.  What better help could the new OL ask for?  When establishing continuity in a new scheme, the run game always takes off first.  Why not draft the best I've seen in years?  Jeanty is a faster version of Marshawn Lynch.  I've never seen contact balance like his.  Getting a stud RB in his first five years is very smart cap wise, with low cost and high production.

I'm not saying that what I'd do, but it's intriguing as hell.

Im with you. i KNOW fixing the OL is job #1, so ive held off on saying that Jeanty might be an option, but if we can remake the OL and get Jeanty, that WOULD be amazing.

Yeah, Jeanty is not a new thought on here.  I think AZ54 scooped that thought first.  At the time I was against it.  But, knowing how deep the IOL draft has changed everything.

I've heard TreVeyon Henderson RB Ohio St compares to Gibbs also.  Then there are rumors the Bears are heavily scouting Kaleb Johnson who is a little bigger.

As much as I like Roschon, and as important as having a good run game means to making this offense work,I think we need to prepare to see one taken rounds 1-3.

Have to have a solid plan to get the best oline group first though.

for sure, im not claiming any credit, Im just saying, i didnt speak about it too much because i agree with all of us that OL is job #1, but if there is a way to have both that'd be amazing.

FWIW, Ive not done any real homework on the draft yet, so all i can really say is "this blue chip RB look really good in short highlight films" and equally meaningless things like that LOL I cant even say if there is an edge rusher Id want more than Jeanty or anything like that!

He will probably be the BPA on the board at 10. He also could be trade bait for extra picks.  Jeanty is the player you take as the last piece or a player to build a team around. I think Caleb is that guy. It's tricky building both the OL and DL in one draft. I say our first 4 picks should be trenches. PERIOD. If we get a Cunningham boost, that would be the place to grab a RB. There will be lots left in the 4th to choose from as a compliment to Swift which will excel under Johnson.

Other than the first two sentences, it's a very solid mindset.  As for the first two.  Nobody builds a team around the RB anymore.

ATL took Robinson with a high pick, Gibbs was a high pick and obviously Barkley was. I think anyone taking a RB that has plans on running the ball. Today's NFL is balanced oriented for the good teams . Not to say they build around them but definitely have big plans for them.
