Im not sure who goes to RG. I can see it a bunch of different ways.

Good news is it's not like OT, moving sides isnt as big a deal at all.

On one hand, you put the 4 time superbowl winner wherever he is best, and hes been a LG the whole time.

Another way to look at it is how tough the running game would be with him next to Wright on the right side. I was hoping Davis would play up to his tape and we'd have an easy 4 yards whenever we wanted it on the right side, but then Davis turned out to be a turd.

So it could go either way. If I had to guess, Id say Jackson goes to RG, but I wouldnt want to bet heavily on it.

LG typically need to be better pass blockers since they do help protect the blindside. Since the Right side ends up with the "left" over talent, they tend to be  road graders and teams run behind them more often.  The LG is usually more agile to pull also. Other than that, it is muscle memory. Since they are both LG by repetition, we want the best pass blocker to protect Caleb.  Jackson is not know to be a road grader, so can he elevate if moved to RG

sounds right. I think the two sides are more interchangeable than you do, but either way I also think Jackson goes to the right side.

IMO, I think Swift will have more value in Johnson's scheme with a better OL. He doesn't have the power Gibbs has  but still had some big plays last year and is a good receiver. 959 yards- 6 tds -  3.8 / 42 receptions 386 yds

He had a 44% running success rate and 53% receiving success rate.

Gibbs 53% R success rate, 56% WR success rate.

With a better offense scheme and better OL, he can be almost  be as successful as Gibbs.

ANy RB (or QB) will do better with a better line, so of course i agree with you on that. My personal opinion is still that Swift isnt good enough, and I think he will at most split carries with a running back who isnt on the roster yet. Possibly he will do even less or get traded, but his cap situation says he stays this year and is gone next year.

So I forsee him being RB2 behind someone we dont even know yet. But this is all just my guess. I KNOW he isnt good enough, I agree he will be better with a better OL, and the rest is just my opinion.

All of that may come true and yes they will bring in a rookie. I think it will be a power back since Johnson runs a 2 back system. That player may get the drivers seat but not sure that's instantly. The proof of purpose will be what round they do that in.

The first 4  picks need to be trenches and get some trade back picks to get a RB.

I think they could move down a few spots from 10 - but I think at minimum 2 of first 4 will be on trenches, most likely 3 of first 4.  RB will be one of the top 3 picks, imo.  I also think there is a chance they take a TE.

We need 2 DL and 2 OL, I supposed a later OL for development could come later. DTs are strong maybe pick 145 falls to DT. I think Poles adds 2 more picks some how.

Filling holes, Jeanty could be back on the table. I think they still hit the trenches early. Now they have a chance to build the lines, give them depth and keep the wheel turning.

I think LT and DL will be prioritized with this high of a pick. Those are high paid positions down the road. With the extra picks coming on trade downs, I can see a 3rd round RB spot with many names still on the table.

I would like to move down to 20s and take Zabel. Try to move back at 39 and 41 and still grab DL. Another OL and RB with extra picks.

Something overlooked is we added leaders to the team. Thuney, Dalman , Jarrett to go with Byard and Caleb jumping into a leader role.

Every time I go through the exercise of “would I rather” have Jeanty or Simmons at LT?   Or Kenneth Grant paired up with Dexter?  Or even Zabel as our OC long term?  Jeanty never rises to the top.

It's tough because there are a few other really good backs.  I say sell the heck out of Jentry to drive his price

Jeanty should not be considered. Johnson has a 2 back system, getting a load back changes what he does. We are trying to be a passing team that runs the ball well. We can add to the room and still focus our future on Caleb. Not at 10.

Johnson will do whatever utilizes his roster best. Hes already said he isnt going to do a repeat of the Lions playbook here.

If we KNEW Jeanty would be LaDanian Tomlinson, we'd take him at #10 with a smile on our face.

Now Im not saying he IS, but what matters is what Johnson thinks.

You may well be right, but "Jeanty should not be considered" is a pretty bold and definitive statement, and none of us have the inside info to know that.

Like I said, you may well prove out to be 100% right, and I agree that in general, taking a back that high is considered a mistake. So Im definitely not saying youre wrong. But I dont know how you can know that so definitively.

Also, food for discussion: Backs went out of fashion as teams played one high safety looks. The running game of the 90s wouldnt work against these modern defenses. But something interesting has happened. The passing game opened up with teams like the Rams and Chiefs exploiting modern routes and concepts, and then Fangio showed the league that two high safeties could counter that.

Suddenly, we are seeing more two high (or more) looks; cover 2, man under 2, cover 3, cover 4 etc. So maybe part of what Johnson and the Eagles proved last year is that there is a place for a real running game again, as those safeties have moved back? The Eagles also countered the Chiefs with a four man shell, and a fierce pass rush.

Even so, I think we all agree that paying a RB big money is hard to justify, but taking them with the 10th pick and paying a rookie deal isn't that rich, *IF* you think they will be one of those rare difference makers.

Again, I cant say if Jeanty is or isnt that, but if Johnson thinks so, they wont hesitate to take him over OL depth for 2 years from now.

I still personally think we're taking a LT with #10, but Jeanty and that TE are definitely options, depending on what Johnson thinks about their ability.
