ASHKUM BEAR
I'm down. Either Zabel or Simmons would make me happy.
Stinger226
I would love Zabel but can we handle a 30 mil contract ,he's going to want an extension. If he was 26 I would more understand the move but he's 31. Instead of trade 10 just draft a DL and you still have 72 to add to the trenches. No for me. Since Bengals have signing issues with several players, sign Joseph Ossai, he's 25 and had 5.5 sacks that has upside and could sign for 5-7 a year. Matt Bowen brought his name up as a potential break out player.

Stinger226
Just heard a podcast and with these new signings we now have 41 mil in cap space. The out rookie money 7, operating capital 7, we now have 27 mil and we haven't extended Gordon yet. We have one 10 mil signing left plus roster filler contracts. Can they play with contracts, yes but Poles doesn't like to move cost down the road .

I also think I heard we were still closer to 50M - with other moves they can probably get to $60-65M.

You could always extend or restructure contracts of existing players too. The money isnt set in stone. It's not endless, but if you really believe in a player, you can probably make it happen. I cannot see 16 or 20 million/year to a player his age, so guessing 10-12 million. If that is the case, they might be able to free up 2 million this season. Gordon would be a year early, so it shouldn't cost much more. It depends on how they spread it out. 3 year 33 million is an estimate I've seen. So maybe they add 2 million to this year and the next 3 have 10 million hits. Santos - Bears can cut him and save 2 million w 2 million in dead space. Ryan Bates - cut saves 4 million Tremaine Edmonds - maybe he will rework his contract. Owed 17 mill this year and 17 next, but can be cut next year to save 13 mil. If he was smart, he'd look to add a year and spread the guarantee out

If the offer is too low, Edmunds would be smart to just stay under the current contract and prove his worth to the market.

Edmunds sure found ways to find the ball after the play was over like he was avoiding contact. But Flus D might have kept him in coverages They say Allen's MLB has more freedom to play the ball, so I hope edmunds earns his big pay days and makes up for the last 2 years

If it was just that I'd make the deal but I think we'll need to put more on the table. That might mean just giving them 10 overall. If they give us 17 we're likely giving up at least one of the 2nd Rd picks. I don't know if Cleveland is quietly considering trading Garrett but if they are this complicates things for both Ohio teams.

We will know if he is worth hims $ after this season for sure. No more excuses. But i wont be surprised if Edmunds balls out and Eberflus just neutered him. Stinger226
Edmunds played well in Baltimore that got him the big contract. If they want they.can find money but now in 3 years they are going to have to deal with Caleb money. I don't think they want to move money down the road with contracts.
