adam
The #Bears are giving edge Dayo Odeyingbo a 3-year deal worth $48M, $16M per year.
DABEARSDABOMB
Is he an edge or dt?
Stinger226
Don't know much about him but has 43 pressures and 3 sacks last year. Big guy for DA 6'6"

Sweat just went 4 years for $19.1M per year. This is ultimately a 2-yr deal.
BearFan PHX
He's an edge - big bodied like Allen likes. I feel like signing him instead of a larger name hints at us drafting an edge player early in the draft? Either that or they think Booker will continue to develop? Stinger226
Milton Williams got 26 mil per year. At least we have reasonable contracts.
dawhizz
I think you put him at edge and then on pass rush downs move him inside with a draft pick on the outside, kind of how they used Demarcus Walker.
Stinger226
This probably means OT or DT for first pick. Move back and get Zabel.
BearFan PHX
Big body, high motor. Looks good, and yes to dawhizz, he looks like he could play some DT, especially on 3rd down. https://x.com/NFL_DougFarrar/status/1897346672558330301

Williams got the biggest contract total in free agency thus far at $104M total. Crazy money. Hell Dan Moore got $82M from TEN. $16M for Odeyingbo and $14M for Dalman is decent compared to some of these other deals.
adam
Depending on how those deals are structured, the Bears have between $12-$14M left in cap. With the draft pool and operating money they might have one or two lower FAs left (under $5M per year).
DABEARSDABOMB
Very interesting - they have put their money into the lines and really invested there. I expect we'll also see a couple draft picks there, but clearly RB is going to be a spot they go early (I still hope it is Rd 2 vs. Rd 1). DABEARSDABOMB
This fits DE in Rd 1. Ayo plays both DT and DE. On rushing down's he is outside, but he moves inside a lot on passing downs - which is kind of perfect in terms of length and flexibility and means if you draft someone in Rd 1 at DE (or even with Rd 2 pick) that is a really nice duo along with Sweat. A lot of talent plus versatility if done right.

I just mentioned the same thing on one of the other threads. The good defenses have a stud S. I totally expect trade backs to add more top 100 players to develop as these vets get older. A Johnson or Skattebo instead of Jeanty? If one of the top players drop we could get a haul or a QB moves up the draft boards. OR we add a stud at 10 and trade back with both 39 and 41. Poles has set this up to blow up the draft board. I expect at least one OL and one DL high and then add where Johnson wants to fill.
