Here's something to chew on:

Does the fact that Jacksonville didn't hire Ian Cunningham make it less likely that the Bears will trade up for Jeanty?

I remember Cunningham keeping Poles from trading up for Odunze. If he wasnt here this year, maybe Poles would be more untethered?

And the irony is that rpoerts say we are talking to the Jags about a trade up. And like I just said, talking and doing are two different things. But if Jacksonville have Cunningham at GM, would it have made a Bears trade with them more likely?

Irony! lol

I think after pick 3, all the teams would prefer to trade down.  Jeanty is a stud, but Henderson is not far behind.  Where would Henderson be if these two switched teams. One was the feature at a smaller school and the other split w Judkins and other near pro ready talent.

Less likely because neither wants to lose the deal.   Without Cunningham and with reports that trade deals are likely going to be 70% of normal trade value we can theoretically get a bargain for a blue chip player.  I can’t see Cunningham giving his old boss a 30% discount.   Or the new boss will be plenty upset.

You could argue Henderson played a much tougher schedule but then their results against Oregon are interesting.  Albeit Jeanty played the Ducks much earlier in the season.  But he ran up nearly 200 yards.

I just mean Cunningham keeps Poles from getting too nervous and trading up. :)
