BigDaddy
Wow! That's kinda scary. Ya gotta wonder what Briggs is thinking about all of this.

adam
Linebackers and Safeties with neck injuries are never good. It is odd that this is something that was just found this year, making it a new injury.
DaBearSox
I dont have a Chicago Tribune account so I couldn't read the article, but it took me like 15 minutes to figure out who "Lach" was....never herd him refered to that before.... madlithuanian
I pretty much agree with the article. There is reason for concern. Henceforth why I was interested in Laurinaitis this year (until he decided to go back to OSU). I think we need to be on that same page now. Whether it's this draft or next, MLB must be in the mix and fairly high up... We need to groom a successor. I don't see Briggs as a real answer. I'm kind of in a funk over this news. Here's hoping he has a speedy recovery and comes out better. Set well soon Brian! AZ54
Neck surgery is never a good thing so I wish Urlacher the best and hope he recovers quickly. Since only the Bears organization will know the severity of this issue it will make other teams wonder what the Bears draft plans are now. With Briggs leaving and Urlacher possibly at/near the end of his career is LB now one of our top needs?
Ed Hochuli 3:16
If it was a problem and the organization OKed it, then I'm fine with it. If it's something that won't affect him in the up and coming years, and possibly make him play better, then I'm all for it.
