Ed Hochuli 3:16
This coming from a guy with a Flacco Jersey as his AV?? That's pretty darn funny... I used to be real high on him, but now the man crush is starting to slim, especially now since the bigger need is WR and we'll probably go with Devin Thomas or Adarius Bowman with our 2nd rounder, which would obviously mean we aren't in the running for Flacco. It's still my avatar because I just have forgot about it AND there really isn't anything I can put. Maybe a Blackhawks logo...
nfoligno
Regarding Flacco, I was never in on the Flacco man crush. At the same time, I like what I see and hear. At this point, I am not sure he even makes it to us, as many teams at the top of the 1st are in need of a QB, so while he and Broham may not go in the 1st, I think both are likely to go at the top of the 2nd. There is no question we need WR, as well as much more. My argument for Flacco, if we believe he is a potential frachise starter would be this. I do not buy anymore arguments about QBs being viewed as a polished rookie or one that may need a couple years to develop. W/ few exceptions, they all need time. Leinart was supposed to be so polished. Look at Eli. Team was about to give up on him after 2 or 3 years before he seemed to take that next step. There have been exceptions, but by and large, QB is simply one of those positions that I argue everyone needs time to develop. But that in itself may be an argument for some bear fans to take a pass. I disagree. I am sorry, but take a look at our offense. Who here really thinks our offense will be so great? Is there really some 180 proof coolaid that is that strong? Maybe our offense will simply not lose games and our defense and special teams will be good enough to win. I don't know. But the offense is in a building period that is not going to happen over night. If Flacco is a franchise QB that may take a couple years, so what. Get him. What is the point of drafting a WR in the 2nd when you don't have anyone to throw him the ball.
Da Bears 88
Bad footwork, bad accuracy, and bad competition. Yes, because Josh Johnson is a stud muffin?

I think with the 6'6" and only 230 that in and of itself tells you that he has some "building" to do on his frame. That is pretty light for a guy that tall (I am 6'4" and 250 - some of which is old age settling in ). At any rate, with Grossman trying to prove himself with one year and Orton (my money is on Orton this year) given the chance to prove his worth I think someone like Flacco would most definitely prosper from the chance to hold down the bench for one maybe two years. I don't think drafting a WR is a necessity and drafting one that high will be a waste of a draft pick (instead maybe 3rd or later). The Bears have essentially brand new unprovens in Hester, Bradley, Davis and Hass. Try these guys out first before you go and hit the panic button for a WR that high up. Besides, as somebody else mentioned there could and will be other good FA WR's showing up in the coming months. The Bears need a RB (draft or FA) LONGGGG before they need a WR for sure.
