Ed Hochuli 3:16
Ravens agreed to terms with LB Brendon Ayanbadejo on a four-year, $4.9 million contract. The deal included a $1.9 million signing bonus. Ayanbadejo thinks he'll get a shot to play defense in Baltimore, but we'd be very skeptical. He might be the Ravens' sixth linebacker to open the year. Connorbear
He was a great ST player for us. Hate to see him go but we need to get some of the younger players involved. Best of luck to him. Peace
jackie hayes
So he left because he wanted to play more defense...and goes to a team with a perpetually solid lb corps... Smart choice, there.

How much less was the Bears offer?
Bears4Ever_34
You can find another Ayanbedejo just about every year.
Ed Hochuli 3:16
Kinda odd. How much less was the Bears offer? Not sure. They took the offer off the table about 4 or 5 days ago, and then Brendon said on CSN last night that he was going to call JA today to make sure he wasn't going to offer him a deal, so apparently JA told him "adios". DrunkBomber
He became expendable because of us resigning Briggs. It sucks to get rid of him because IMO I think he had a huge impact on Hesters returns, he always seemed to be around the play. However, resigning Briggs and having Okwo and Jamar Williams means if we kept him we would have too many LBs.
AZ54
About 4.9 million less after we pulled it off the table. After this many years in the league as a key special teams player the only reason Ayanbadejo talked up playing LB was because he felt it would help him get his big contract. Now that he's got that bonus in his pocket I bet LB is scratched off his to-do list.
BearSox
If he really wanted to get a slight chance of playing, New York is where he should have signed.

I really like the statement JA has put out this year. "We will try to keep you in the fold, but don't f@*k with us!" Brendan ran his mouth in the media about how much he should get paid. JA's statement to the press??? Oh, that was the dialtone Brendans agent got. LOL! Glad Brendan got paid. Even gladder we didn't do the payin'. SoxFan1
The Bears offered him a deal, gave him a deadline, and it turns out it was 800k-1 mill shy of the Ravens offer, so he went for it.

We've still got a long way to go in the offseason. And who was-is there to sign that was really value? Everyone agrees that deals for solid players at best have been inflated this year. So JA waits for someone we want AND think is good value, and we have $ for the rookies. Then there are cuts that happen and waiver wires. Yeah, Brendon was a value, but not at the Ravens' price. Good luck to ya in Baltimore.
