I'm glad you seem so diplomatic!

I, for one, have too much emotion and experience invested with these guys, that seeing Rex get it I think will be a big mistake. I could be wrong, but I just don't think so.

If Rex wins and tears it up - great. If Kyle wins and he tears it up - great. I don't care who at this point - someone please step up.

Peace :dabears

Orton. Hands down. Even if Gorssman outdoes Orton by a bit, I still go with Orton. He handled the job well at the end of the season and has never been given the chance to truly start.

Didn't Orton start most of 2005?

The player that gives the Bears the best chance to win needs to start.

I say no to Dante but if he is healthy and was cheap than maybe depending what the staff thinks about our undrafted QB's:

I have projected Rex's numbers over 90 starts assunimg he never improves and compared them to Dante's 90 career starts; please remeber the receivers that Rex had vs. what Dante had available.

Rex: Career Stats (only 30 career starts)

Passing Rushing

Comp Att Pct Yds Avg TD Int Sck SckY Rate Att Yds Avg TD FUM Lost

TOTAL 489 900 54.3 5,907 6.6 31 33 56 412 70.9 52 76 1.5 1 19 10

*90 start projection while assuming Rex does not improve

* 1467 2700 54.3 11,814 6.6 93 99 168 1236 70.9 156 228 1.5 3 57 30

Dante: 8 year Career Stats (90 career starts)

TOTAL 1,867 2,927 63.8 22,422 7.7 142 94 270 1,494 89.9 484 2,536 5.2 33 93 38

For me this is what it boils down to. I'm sick and tired of excuses, QB changes, endless dabate over who's better, conspiracy theories, etc. Like most Bear fans here and everywhere we want someone to step up and take the job. If it's Orton, great, if it's Grossman, great, if it's someone else great. I'm just tired of the carousel. I want someone take the job by force rather than us settling or trying to pick who we think is least likely to drag the team down. I know this is the Chicago Bears and our past at the QB position is atrocious at best. It's time we change that pattern. I hope that Grossman, Orton, Hill and that other guy will compete hard, wouldn't it be nice for a change to see our QB's performing well during preseason and making it a choice of who impressed the most rather than who screwed up the least? Maybe that's too much to ask.
