Ed Hochuli 3:16
Tillman, Alex Brown, Hester, Vasher, etc, AKA a non-first round steal for us. I'm going to say Harrison. He's an absolute monster when he's not an off the field nuisance. He is a big man and with Tommie drawing double teams, he could have a 3-5 sack year. Not to mention, when we took him, he was the best defensive player on the board. If not for his off the field problems, he would have been a mid-2nd round pick. BigDaddy
Steltz. We might have a couple candidates, Steltz, Harrison and Davis. The only thing with davis is the fact that we have Clark and olsen in place.

Steltz. I can definitly see by mid season an intelligent secondary with Brown at the FS spot and Steltz at the SS spot. If and I hope not, but if Brown goes down again I think drafting steltz was not only a steal, but one of the smartest defensive players we've drafted since tillman or vasher. Don't get me wrong, I like anderson and some of the others, but watching some of those LSU games steltz just has that playmaker type of characteristics that we have missed every year when brown goes down. He's got a nose for the ball.

The way it's going now, unless it's the IR or the practice squad, none of those 5 will make it past the September 1st cuts. Which pisses me off since on draft day, JA was constantly trading down to get extra picks. Extra picks don't help if they can't make the team. Steltz is the obvious "surprise choice." McGowan is average at best, and like Mike Brown, he has a history of being injured. We seem committed to making Kevin Payne a top special team's player, and we also seem committed to keeping Dannieal Manning as our nickel back. That makes Steltz the #1 back-up SS & FS. With our defensive talent . . . But I won't pick Steltz, I'm going to go with Kellen Davis. He's a 5th round pick & nobody thought we needed a TE that wasn't a blocking specialist. We're running all kinds of 2 TE sets, so the first time Olsen or Clark have to miss a play, Davis should be able to step up.
DABEARSDABOMB
Bennett. WR is our weakest area and he's shown good route running, speed, and above average hands. Its typically hard for a WR to make an impact, but the combination of the Bears lack of depth at WR and Bennett's skill set will help him make a nice impact this season. Thank you this is the thing that drives me nuts as well. Trading down for the sake of extra picks doesn't mean beans if after trading down so far they are in such a deluted talent pool they don't have the skills to make the team. I want to go with Davis who is the definition of men among boys, he towers over people catches everything we might see him in more redzone packages and i want to know which LB or Safety is gonna get a jump ball with that guy. We may have 1 or 2 make the team with a couple more on the practice squad. I agree with you. I don't enjoy trading down into the 7th round. And if we have NO depth on the Oline, those 5 will really be wasted picks.
nfoligno
The only two I see are Forte and Harrison. Forte is the obvious, non 1st round pick, who is expected to produce on a high level, but that would not be much of a surprise. Harrison is the next likely candidate. He has an opportunity to win a starting job, especially as Dusty is still nursing an injury and hasn't proven much of anything thus far. Further, even if he doesn't start, the 3rd DT will play a lot, so he still has a ton of opportunity. I don't see Bennett having a huge impact this year. Maybe I am wrong, but while I think he will make some plays, he will struggle as a rookie and not see enough reps to make a big name for himself. Many say Steltz, but I am not as convinced. The rest suffer from a depth chart issue.
DrunkBomber
Bennett is my first choice, he is gonna be a stud. If not him, Bowman.

What does it hurt? That deep in the draft, who did we pass on to get more picks? Some mystery stud? Please... You trade down and take more chances at the lottery. It makes sense. You can argue with the actual picks we made all day long and I'll support you. But as a strategy, I don't have a problem with it.
AZ54
I'll take Bennett. If I understood the question correctly it was posed as to who will be our stud from among the later round picks, not necessarily this year. I still think Bennett is going to contribute this year but may not have an exceptional year. I see him doing some good things in the slot. I'll guess that Hester and Davis split time at the 2 spot, expect Davis to move inside to the slot position when Hester is on the field. That means Bennett gets slot time when Hester sits. This leaves Bradley, Lloyd, and Booker to fight for the #1 spot. Right now it appears Lloyd has the upper hand but it's early, very early and no games have been played. This whole mess could turn in any direction if there's an injury. Harrison is another player I like but he's fighting for time against a lot better competition. Forte should be our main RB threat so I'll leave him out of this discussion. Bowman? Again he has a lot of tough competition and I don't think his knees are ready for a full NFL season. I see him on the roster but staying on the bench this year.
