jason
It should be a signal that a lot of changes are needed. The offense needs changes. The defense needs changes. The special teams need(s) changes. Most of all, however... The coaching staff needs changes. This should be the sign to all that Lovie, Babich, and Turner need to get the axe. Babich ESPECIALLY needs to be fired. The game was a travesty, and there is no way a team that played this poorly can be the result of good coaching. Bears4Ever_34
Is there any way we can kill Tommie Harris off and steal his money back??
Ed Hochuli 3:16
We need to spend money this offseason, by trades and by free agency. We need a #1 WR, we need a fierce OG (Faneca, no because JA is too cheap), we need a new head coach, and we need to draft 2 DE's in the 1st 4 rounds. BearSox
REMAINING SCHEDULE: @ Rams - They are not going to be a push over and this game could go either way. Our D probably won't be able to stop their O, so it'd likely be a shoot out, if our offense shows up. I'll give us a W on this one, but it could easily be an L. @ Vikings - I thought this was a game that could go either way and I think they will have the upper hand being at home. I think this will be an L. vs. Jaguars - This is gonna be tough one as well, and I see this game being an L as well. vs. Saints - Man their O is gonna have a field day on us. Another L vs. Packers - If today was any idication, this isn't gonna be fun. L. @ Texans - This is a game we have a chance at, and we seem to always win pointless games, so I give us a W. Final record 7-9, and another top 15 pick. Please let this be the end of Smith and please hire Spagnola! I was thinking Cowher, but I don't see us doing such a dramatic change on D... Ah, who cares, give me the proven guy in Cowher!

This was the only game we have been blown out this year? If that is true, we are going to hear that all week long. It is like thye just show up and havn't planned anything. Coaching sucks! Ed Hochuli 3:16
Yeah, probably... From wiki. Steve Julio Spagnuolo[1](born December 21, 1959 in Whitinsville, Massachusetts) is the current defensive coordinator for the New York Giants He was named coordinator January 2007, following 8 years under defensive coordinator Jim Johnson's Philadelphia Eagles staff. After his Super Bowl XLII victory Spagnuolo was considered for the head coach of the Washington Redskins but remained with the Giants with a 3 year contract of more than $2 million a year. DABEARSDABOMB
I don't think Lovie will get fired and I fully expect Marinelli to be the Bears defensive coordinator next season (assuming he gets fired as head coach of the Lions). DABEARSDABOMB
He should get fired though, IMO, if we don't make the playoffs. I think he's simply lost the locker room. My problem is his coaching style. It just doesn't work. The Bears defense is full of a bunch of primadonna pussies (aside from Mike Brown). I will tip my cap to Lance Briggs who is by far and away not only the best player on the Bears defense but easily one of the very best LB's in all of the NFL. He's played phenomenal this season. Too bad the Bears didn't listen to me and tell Urlacher to prove he deserved to get paid. Urlacher is toast. He is at least a step and a half, if not two steps slower, and that lack of speed will really hurt him considering he's not the strongest technical linebacker in the world (ie, can't get off blocks, etc). chitownman
Besides the coaching staff, I also blame a lot of this on Jerry Angelo as well. He has made some good decisions however, JA's bad decisions far outweigh his good ones. Smith has lost what ever he had upon arriving in Chicago, Babich is just a yes man who does not deserve to be a coordinator and Turner as well lost what ever he once had prior to the time he spent down in Champaign. Hell even Taub is losing something on the special teams which usually is a bright spot for this team. In regards to coaches that should take over next year; Ron Rivera, Mike Singletary (figuring San Fran does not want him), Leslie Frazier, Bill Cowher or some offensive minded coach who understands the complete game and will bring in someone worth a damn to put this defense back on tract. We also need a new GM who is a specialist in regards to the cap and will work better with Ted Philips and the McCaskey family. Either way as it was mentioned at the beginning of the broadcast that Tommie Harris said he did not want to see this season slip away, really did slip away at this point. I do not see to many more wins this season and having to play Minnesota in Minneapolis, Jacksonville, Green Bay again just does not seem favorable. Next week in St. Louis is definitely not a given and New Orleans will not hesitate to allow Drew Brees to open things up and Houston is well, just Houston without Schaub. Heads need to roll at the end of 2008 and hope that there will be something better for 2009 because there is just no way that Da Bears will make the playoffs this year and unless significant changes are made, don't even think about making the play-offs again any time soon. Okay that's a good post and the Leslie Frazier thing was funny, but Jacksonville has been brutal this year, obviously St. Louis has too, and Minnesota isn't all that either. Then again, playing there on Sunday Night doesn't help.

I can definately see this happening. Babich is in way, way over his head. Turner had his first bad game of the yr. I knew there would be no way to win if we didn't run at least 30 times. Forte was averaging 4 yds a carry yet we ran 1 time in the 3rd quarter. Peace

You had to see the writing on the wall cause the D had no chance at stopping the Packers. I can't wait to see what happens in a few weeks when they go up against Drew Brees. We may see a historical day.
madlithuanian
Note to self... In any fantasy leage, pick up any player on opposing team of the Bears.
