bear trap
Lovie had stolen all the credit for the defense being dominant the past few years, when really the mastermind was Rivera. These past two seasons with lovies "right hand man" Babich we have been aweful on defense. HMM, well we were a top 5 defense with rivera, but lovie fires him and gives the job to someone who did jack shit to earn the job other then kiss lovie's cover 2 ass. Babich needs to go, and if lovie says one word, he should be shit canned as well. Personally, I'm for kicking lovie to the curb and calling chico in for the job he rightfully should have been handed a few years back. Chico was the man for the job and lovie took the credit for it, and it's obvious now!!! f Fire lovie get chico
Chitownhustla
to add to your post SD just fired their D Cord and moved Riveria to D Cord. SD's D has already looked better getting more pressure actually getting sacks under Riveria

Gonna disagree with you on that. We can obviously see now that Chico should have been kept but Lovie was exercising the power that he had earned by his team's performance. Lovie took the team to the SB for the first time in 20 yrs. They didn't win but the did make it. Players and coaches are rewarded in the NFL for production. Now Angelo needs to sit Lovie down and tell him that Babich has to go. Peace

Connorbear
Smith has lost his goodwill... Keeping him delays the inevitable. You and I both know he will be with us this yr and next. If nothing improves, he will be fired after next season. Peace
madlithuanian
Agreed. Do you know how long he is under contract? My bet is the Bears let him go with only one year left. We all suffer until then. You and I both know he will be with us this yr and next. If nothing improves, he will be fired after next season. madlithuanian
Ouch...just as as I had feared, this season, and 2 more years of mediocrity to follow. Time to invest in paper bags... Angelo needs to assert himself as GM at the end of the yr. He won't be allowed to fire Lovie ($$$) but he should demand Babich is gone. Alaskan Grizzly
Each week there seems to be someone else to blame...especially when the losses start to roll on. A few weeks ago it was Urlacher because he was disgruntled and "embarrassing" when it came to doing interviews. Then, as always, it was Grossman (which I am not disagreeable to) when the Bears lost last week. Heck early on I said the Bears should have traded Hester when they had the chance.... And it goes on.... I agree with several in this board that say Babich should be one that needs to hit the road...he has been nothing short of bland and Turner might as well go with him. When it comes to the losses, this may actually stem the bleeding. Lovie is in it for a few more years and for good reason. If Angelo is worth his weight he will do something like a poster mentioned earlier and sit and talk with Lovie about what he wants to get done as well, to include excusing Turner and Babich and bring is fresh minds. Maybe even have Lovie start calling the D if they can find someone Offense oriented. At this point trying to rebuild would really be detrimental. It is really obvious that the players could benefit from a more rigorous training regimen. The D is especially looking more and more lackluster as the season progreses. It almost looks like they (players) are watching game film and thats it. Urlacher and Brown are about the only two that look like they care, others (Graham, Manning and Payne for example) are too young or not disciplined enough to know the difference. There are a lot of issues that need fixing but starting over is not the answer. Heck, the Bears are still tied for the lead in the NFC North. madlithuanian
That should be a slam dunk. But it's a shame we have to endure the rest of this year with Babich. I imagine, we'll see improvement next year. Then the following one should be another tank job and a re-start for coaches and GM. Angelo needs to assert himself as GM at the end of the yr. He won't be allowed to fire Lovie ($$$) but he should demand Babich is gone. Peace
AZ54
What indications do you have of our defense watching game film?
