Connorbear
Can i ask where this info is comming from? About the grateing? I heard nothing this year where is this being printed? Not printed but when he was recovering from his injury, he delared that he wouldn't play until he was 100%. Then he declared he was healthy enough to play and the coaches kept him on the bench for another week. My interpretation - he pissed off the coaching staff with his statements. He will not be back. The sad part is Lloyd is probably our best WR. Olsen, Clark, & Forte are better receivers but of our WRs who has been better than Lloyd? Hester is improving but I am not sure he is better than Lloyd at this point. Booker has been a huge disappointment. R Davis had all the hype in preseason and has dropped way too many passes. Bennett is being hidden in the dog house? Now I ask, who is worth keeping? We need a legitimate #1 & #2 IMO as I see no one on our roster at this point at WR who would be anymore than a #3 on any other team.

No use keeping a guy that doesn't have it anymore in Booker. With Davis you have a marginal size/talent guy that finds a way to blow opportunities on a consistent basis. I hope Lloyd sticks around. I have loved some of the catches he has made. My problem with him is the rumored attitude and dedication issues seem to have some teeth. Hester is also a keeper. He will keep defenses honest. Bennett dumbfounds me. Either he sucks or our coaches do. Who's coming clean 1st?? Rideou should stay as well, because he is young and has good hands with size to boot. All told, I think Hester will continue to mold into a dangerous #2. I actually think our QB is the key to this, as I have seen him missed wide open more than a few times this season. You could easily add 4 TD's and 200 yards to Hester's stats if Orton could throw the deep ball better. I'm still hoping for a solid off-season aquisition WR. Hindsight and what we'll have to pay will make us regret the loss of Berrian by thinking we could have had him cheaply. After that, we draft a guy that is big and tough that will play Bear football. IE: A Hines Ward wannabe.

IE: A Hines Ward wannabe. Booker is most likely gone but Davis will stay as a 5th receiver, special teams expert. Lloyd is likely gone. He is in the coaches doghouse. Hester has improved especially over the last few games which is a good going into next yr. Kyle has definately missed him a couple of times on deep balls but he also dropped a sure touchdown against Philly earlier this yr. Bennett has the build to be a Hines Ward type. The coaching staff just needs to get him on the field. Peace
bowlingtwig
Honestly I think we should let booker and Davis both go. Davis has really pissed me off lately these past couple of weeks.
nfoligno
Now I ask, who is worth keeping? We need a legitimate #1 & #2 IMO as I see no one on our roster at this point at WR who would be anymore than a #3 on any other team. Hester will obviously stick. Bennett too, despite not playing, will stick for next year. Davis may be kept, despite the drops, due to his special teams play. Though he will be kept, I am not sure he will factor much into the WR plans. As Connerbear mentions, he could be kept as a deep depth chart WR who specializes in special teams. Many will talk about Rideau, but I view him similar to Hass. Rideau is a bit of a fan favorite, and a player who looks good in camp, but the staff sure do not seem enamored w/ him, and he wasn't a high draft pick (Bradley/Bennett) to warrant a roster spot. Rideau will be in the mix to compete for depth, but I don't think he will be even pencilled in otherwise. Lloyd is gone. I agree w/ the idea he is likely our best WR right now, but he will be an UFA, and there is simply no way I see us keeping him. The staff sure do not seem high on him and I think the feeling is mutual. Booker too is gone. I agreed w/ picking him up on the cheap, but he simply has not panned out and is now simply a waste of roster space. So we enter next year w/ two locks (Hester/Bennett) and two more who will compete for deep depth (Davis/Rideau), but otherwise, I think we will basically looking to overhaul this unit. I think we will be adding a FA. My hope is TJ, but I have a feeling it will be more along the lines of Lloyd. A less expensive player w/ the potential to be a starter. I also think we will be adding a WR in the first 3 rounds. W/ those two additions (FA and draft), combined w/ the two locks (Hester and Bennet) and the final spot up for competition between Davis, Rideau and whoever else we bring in cheap, we will have our WR unit. How good that unit will be will depend on what FA and rookie we draft, but that is how I see it going down.
nfoligno
Honestly I think we should let booker and Davis both go. Davis has really pissed me off lately these past couple of weeks. While that is possible, at the same time, I would point out the following: One. While Davis has done little to stick, I think you can only expect so much turnover at a position. If we cut Davis loose too, we will need to add as many as 3 WRs. I am just not sure how realistic that is. Heck, I am not 100% we will add two. Two. While he has not served us well as a WR, he is still a very good special teams player, and that is an area we always try to lead the league. I do not want Davis near the starting lineup, but as a 5th WR, his only duty would be as a special teams specialist, and I have no issue w/ that. To me, the problem is not nearly as much Davis so much as our expecting Davis to be a starter. We need to focus more on who we add than simply who we cut. I see Booker and Lloyd both leaving. We do not want to have to replace 3 receivers next yr. Davis is a very good receiver and will be kept for special teams and 5th receiver. Bears4Ever_34
I'd let go of Booker and Davis for sure. Lloyd is gone because he's not on good terms with the coaching staff here. Hester will be back as our #1 pre-draft/pre-season until hopefully we go out and get on in free agency ala Chad Johnson or Anquan Boldin to solidify that #1 which moves Hester to the #2. Sorry But I dont see the whole in the dog house thing. It would be plastered all over the trib and times if there was any type of problem in the lovie land. I bet he returns next year with another 1 year deal. Davis sticks because of SP, Booker is a gonner. They will have to find 1 FA and that bode much cheaper by resigning Lloyd to another 1 years with incentives.

You're definately entitled to your opinion. I simply don't see that he has impressed the coaching staff. Why the heck would Davis be starting over him????? I will say that the FA WR crop is fairly crappy and that might lead them to giving him another chance. However, after what I have seen, I would rather Bennett, Riddeau, and the other young WRs get a chance. Peace
