ChileBear
PFT reports that the Bears have released Marty Booker. Not a big surprise. Now we need to bring in some WRs. DUH!
flea
Booker is tied with Curtis Conway for third in Bears history with 329 receptions, trailing only Walter Payton (492) and Johnny Morris (356). http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=5589 The Bears also released linebacker Gilbert Gardner and waived linebacker Marcus Riley. Gardner appeared in the season finale in Houston after being acquired Dec. 12 after playing in 42 games with the Colts (2004-06), Titans (2007) and Lions (2008). Riley spent the last three weeks of the season on the Bears practice squad after entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Green Bay and spending the preseason with the Rams. madlithuanian
Thanks for the update Chile! Thnaks for the memories Marty! Overall, I will have fond recollections. I'll just try to forget about this last season! Time for some new and improved WR's indeed! PFT reports that the Bears have released Marty Booker. Not a big surprise. Now we need to bring in some WRs. DUH!
DABEARSDABOMB
This is good news, imo. I Liked Booker a lot and he's a respected vet but he clearly doesn't have much left. Now the Bears need to bring in a legitimate WR.

I don't disagree with the idea that we need WR help. However, it sure would be nice to see Bennett get on the field before the Bears chuck a high pick on a WR. The Bears may be more likely to spend some cap room trying to bring in a veteran WR than trying to draft and develop another one. At least, that's what I'd do. DABEARSDABOMB
Torry Holt would be fabulous.
DrunkBomber
The fact that a number that low is third in receptions for our team all time proves how bad we need a WR. I would imagine Fitz and Boldin both are either very close or higher than that number.

Not sure weather to laugh or cry regarding that stat.
