Boston Boxer
he is a little blip about the Browns trading Anderson...nothing about the Bears, but they said he could be had for a 3rd. Think the Bears would show some interest? http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors/post/Ru...?urn=nfl,142852
madlithuanian
I wouldn't mind the Bears showing some interest...however, something tells me they won't. I hate to feel so negative...but it just seems like there's a pro sports flu going around this town that prohibits GM's from making any trades of any real oomph... he is a little blip about the Browns trading Anderson...nothing about the Bears, but they said he could be had for a 3rd. Ed Hochuli 3:16
I like the idea of adding Jon Stinchcomb, formerly of the Saints. Played all year last year for the Saints at RT, and the OL as a whole only gave up 16 sacks all season.

First on Derek Anderson: I believe he signed a 3 year 27 million deal??? We trade for him and we take on whatever he is owed. For 18 million (assuming that is what he is owed) we could get Leftwich, Simms, J.P. Losman AND Jeff George. Hey Madlith, as for Chicago teams making an "oomph" the detached retina is bad news for Stoudamire. Real bad news. I haven't heard, was if fully detached? Is the macula off? If so, he might never play again, or be playing with a patch. I'm glad the Bulls didn't gamble their future on Stoudamire. Please get good soon Tyrus. AZ54
Stoudamire has a partially detached retina on the nose side of the eye. He will be back in 2 months but I didn't hear if there would be any permanent vision loss. All the Suns eye doctor said was that his central vision would not be affected at all. It could be they don't know what type of peripheral vision he'll have until after it heals. I like Stoudamire but if the Bulls can continue to develop Tyrus they'll have a better all around player because of what he can do on the perimeter both on offense and defense. madlithuanian
I know...logic dictates that you are spot on in your assessments. My comment is more of a gut reaction. It just seems when guys are out there to be had, our franchises (maybe other than baseball and ackk...Ben Wallace) tend not to land a big name. Off promt a bit, and living in LA...Kobe could have been had at the right time for the right price. I'm honestly not a guy who likes to see a team be a FA landing pad like the Redskins. But, it just seems like these are roads seldom travelled by the team. Could we not check in and see about Peppers, Housh, Boldin? I just don't see it happening. To me, a good GM looks at ALL options, almost regardless how silly. What if what was preceived to be silly is in actuallity, doable? I just don't get that vibe... I feel like JA (...and I'm not intetionally intending to say "jackass"...yeah, I am...guilty) seems burned by some of those moves and refuses now to do them. He seems caught up in his own hype of finding diamonds in the rough after striking gold (which has now lost it's lustre) in Hester... I think really...I'm just venting again, and I apologize for flogging the dead horse. First on Derek Anderson: I believe he signed a 3 year 27 million deal??? madlithuanian
Thanks for the update! I'm just sadened by the downward spiral of the Bulss as a whole. I love Rose,etc...but dang. It's just not well run I feel. Stoudamire has a partially detached retina on the nose side of the eye. He will be back in 2 months but I didn't hear if there would be any permanent vision loss. It's just not well run I feel. At least the Bulls did become active with bringing in Miller and Tim Thomas. Del Negro says he can work with Tim Thomas so lets hope so. Those are the only guys that will contribute really and I love Miller.
madlithuanian
Yeah....I see Miller as trade bait next season abd generally like him. I don't see Thomas working out. I do believe JA is checking in on the guys you've mentioned, but it's the equivalent of going to the most expensive store in town. You're going to pay one helluva a lot . . . Peppers & Boldin will both cost around 15 million annually AND at least a #1 draft-pick. Peppers sucked in 2007 and Boldin is a very good, but not a great receiver. I see both guys underachieving in a Bear uniform. Housh is more realistic . . . the Moose signing has soured me on expensive possession type receivers who cost an arm and a leg. madlithuanian
Too true! Yeah...it's really Housh that I want a serious look at. We have enough loot I believe, and lose no picks... He won't be a savior...but he should be a huge improvement... That's why we're all here . . . to vent!!!
