More players the Bears aren't likely to sign

Chris Simms is signing with Denver, as per PFT. He wouldn't have been great, but I liked the idea of having him as a back-up, and I really don't think we'll spend the money for Leftwich.

Khalif Barnes is meeting with Oakland. He's the last tackle available who'd be an upgrade over St. Clair. (At least he's still in the mix . . . )

Jermaine Phillips, the top safety available, is meeting with the Chargers & Seahawks.

I just view back-up QB, safety, WR, and o-line as MAJOR problems we need to address in the draft AND free agency. We're so damn thin we need two of each position. My optimism is fading fast.

IMHO all the players you just brought up are FA for some reason right? They must be bad at the position they played at for their old team. The more reason not to bring them here. Like for example we have Hamilton we got last year at CB. Now you tell me other than holding a roster spot what has he done..........drum roll please.......NOTHING to improve thee Bears.

So you are of the opinion we should not look at any FA out there? Ever? You have to be kidding.

Um, you have seen Angelo's draft record, right?

While Barnes is a solid run blocker, he gave up 7.5 sacks last year which is like 23rd of 32. That's horrible, and he's going to get $5 per yet he sucks.

He is a RT who was forced to play LT. Oh yea. And isn't $5m/yr what we were offering St. Clair, who gave up more sacks than any LT in the league.

Sims is signing with Denver? What happened to all the players Denver already had prior to FA? Did they release them? Man, they seem to be signing every player in sight. Maybe I should give them a call. They must need some camp fodder for all those newly signed guys to knock around!
