balta1701-A
For round 1, here is the draft order we will start with. On the advice of others, we will not allow trades. If there is another major trade in the league while we're doing this, we'll decide what to do at the time. To place your pick, either post it in this thread and the first post will be updated accordingly, or send it in PM form to me or one of the other mods/admins. The first post will be updated as we go along. Do not use this thread for trade discussion - it'll simply make it too confusing for me to keep up, I want a new post in here to mean someone made a new pick. Keep all discussion in the other thread I'll be setting up. As a reminder...you get roughly 24 hours to stay on the clock. I'll be generous, especially on weekends and for the first couple picks, but if you get on the clock and no one can find you, someone may pick for you. So at least try to stay current if you've got a team coming up. 1. Detroit Lions - Dabearsdabomb - Mark Sanchez, QB, USC 2. St. Louis Rams - Brianbear - Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech 3. DABEARSDABOMB
As the GM of the Lions, I have not opted with the conventional wisdom. I believe QB is there #1 need and I will address it via the draft. Since trades are not allowed, I want to point out that my primary goal as Detroit's GM would have been to identify a trading partner that was high on Stafford and moved down to get the QB I believe will be the best in this draft, Mark Sanchez. And as such, with the 1st pick in the NFL draft, the Detroit Lions select USC QB Mark Sanchez.

jason
The Seahawks are completely shocked with the way the draft has played out. All intentions were to draft Michael Crabtree. With the fourth pick, the Seattle Seahawks select Jason Smith, OT, Baylor (the new Walter Jones for the next decade)
DABEARSDABOMB
I was going to see if Stafford went off the board to the Seahawks, but with Jason as the GM, you had to know he was going to be the next Matt Millen, except with OT's, LOL. Pixote
OK, just got home from work, after scouting a half dozen draft sites for ideas, the consensus is: 5. adam
With the 7th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri If any team needed a WR more than the Bears, it was the Raiders, with their top WR being Johnnie Lee Higgins with 22 receptions in 2008. The Jacksonville Jaguars (Balta1701) are on the clock.......

Ed Hochuli 3:16
C'mon now. I've conferred with multiple sites, as well as an in-Seattle fan. OL is a definite need for them. It's either Smith, Raji, or Crabtree for them. Good pick. A sleeper for them could be Stafford or Sanchez, depending on if they feel Hasselbeck has anything left in the tank. Going Sanchez/Stafford then Harvin/DHB isn't a bad starting point to team with Houshmanzadeh. Stinger has DEN, SD, TB, and TEN...if he doesn't mind, I'd like one of those 4 teams.
