If cheap, why not? I'd take the gamble.

If cheap, I agree. If prciey...adios amigos!

I would really like to wait on Wale, I want to see him play for a contract extension b/c he never reached the level I expected from him when we traded/signed him. Maybe playing w/o security will step up his level.

As for Idonje, it would be nice to see him get an extension.

I've got no problem there! In fact, very good idea on both.

Agreed about Wale. Right now he's a mediocre starting DE who doesn't get many sacks. Does he want us to pay him as a mediocre DE who doesn't get sacks?

Idonije is definitely worthy of "mediocre money." He's far from great, but he's a warrior who plays special teams and works his ass off. I hope he gets a deal.

Wale can go. He never lived up to the hype.

I would keep Izzy if the deal is right.

Peace :dabears

I'd wait and see on both players. Ogun definitely needs to show something during the season. Idonije has some competition and needs to make the team. I think that's very likely but regardless it's best to let things sort themselves out. If he's still playing at the level we need then I suspect he'll get a new deal early in the season if not soon after the final cuts are made.

Um, no and no.

Wale? An extension? IMHO, the staff was far closer to cutting him (if we could have added a replacement) than extending him. Now, I think Wale could look pretty good again this year, w/ upgraded coaching and talent on D, but I would not be looking to extend him. Give us a contract season effort, then we can talk, but likely not even then.

Idonije. No thanks. Honestly, I have never understood the fuss about Idonije. Nice player for depth, sure. But I would also say he is fairly dime/dozen material. For our depth chart, I would much rather have players w/ a higher level of potential than Idonije.
