GrizzlyBear
According to Chicagobears.com Two Bears players have switched their uniform numbers in advance of Sunday night's season opener: Rookie safety Al Afalava has changed from No. 46 to No. 24, and tight end Michael Gaines swapped No. 85 for No. 86. defiantgiant
That's a shame, I liked #46 for Afalava. Good to see a strong safety laying people out with that number on.
madlithuanian
I liked it too. But, it's time to make #24 a number to remember! That's a shame, I liked #46 for Afalava. Good to see a strong safety laying people out with that number on.
GrizzlyBear
Iam wondering if it because of Plank, maybe they plan on retiring it someday or Has been nominated for the hall yet. Iam wondering why the move.
Connorbear
They still haven't retired either Hampton or Samuraii who are both in the hall. Plank was a very, very good player but is no where near their level. He will never get in the hall and they are not going to retire his jersey. Peace
AZ54
Plank got a defense named after him, one of the most famous in the history of the sport. That's pretty good consolation prize.
