madlithuanian
Bears bring back Darrell McClover Posted by Mike Florio on September 29, 2009 4:45 PM ET The Chicago Bears have done a Tuesday roster shuffle, dropping cornerback DeAngelo Smith and re-signing linebacker Darrell McClover. McClover spent three years with the team, working primarily on special teams. As Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times points out, McClover was inked for his special-teams skills. He also will provide depth at the linebacker position if the team has any further injury difficulties. Pisa Tinoisamoa (knee) and/or Hunter Hillenmeyer (rib) could play this week against the Lions. defiantgiant
It sounds like McClover won't be on the radar on defense. The guy they cut to make room for him was a special teamer; I think they're just upgrading Toub's coverage unit. I like the move - McClover's great on ST and knows the system.
