azbearsfan
Dude, you need to get past that. Other obvious things: 1. Water is wet. 2. Mike Ditka has a resturant with his name on it. 3. The Bears play in Soldier Field 4. Most dogs have 4 legs. 5. Soundgarden was a band Please, we all know we aren't GM's already. But it doesn't discount that an opinion could be correct or have merit. All the while having no chance in hell of finding it's way to someone that has the POWER to do anything about it. We get it. Please move on. Discuss someone's thoughts. Not the fact that that thought won't be listened to by NFL ownership/powers-that-be. Thanks for clearing that up, bud. No need for you to jump in and be a jerk with your rinse and repeat bullcrap, I was just responding to something I thought was thrown my way. Also didn't say opinions weren't correct. Just dont make this thing bigger than it is.
madlithuanian
Well....you do keep brining up your "you're not a GM" bullcr$p. Trunaround is fairplay. Just saying, you come off very jerky yourself when you constantly do that. Honestly, I love most your arguments, even when I disagree. We all want to vent... I don't want to stop you if you feel adamant about bringing your point up. But I wanted to just let you know it comes off bad. I apologize for being jerky. I was irritated by the comment, and wanted to respond. I want to encourage discussion...even heated discussion of topics and thoeries. Just not the constant reminder that none of this matters because no one here works for the NFL.... Sorry, that's just the way it comes off. Thanks for clearing that up, bud. No need for you to jump in and be a jerk with your rinse and repeat bullcrap, I was just responding to something I thought was thrown my way. Also didn't say opinions weren't correct. Just dont make this thing bigger than it is.
nfoligno
But when you start saying that the opinions expressed on the board are actually worth something outside of the board, then I call BS. Unless someone posts that works in the NFL, our opinions dont have much value beyond the debates and banters of the board. And I guess this is the part I either am not sure what you mean, or just question in general. If you mean my opinion has no value for the organization in the sense that I can not sign or cut players, etc., then sure, I agree. That is pretty obvious. But I otherwise disagree. I am sure you watch ESPN, or one of the many other sports media channels. Or you read the on-line stuff. Or you pickup the sports page. In most any, you are going to read/hear opinions. Yes, I realize many (most) are more educated than mine, but would you argue none of those have any "value". I really just don't get the value aspect of your comment. Or is it that any who get paid for their comments have value in their opinion? Or is it only those w/ NFL backgrounds. I honestly just don't get it. I often relate sports to politics, especially when talking about opinions. I don't work for the government, but I have an opinion. Does the fact that I have a vote mean my opinion has value? If so, does not the opinion of a fan have value as the fan is some ways has a vote. Fans can stop buying tickets. They can stop buying concessions or parking. No more jerseys. Etc. Or make is more simple. You think if Halas Hall was absolutely flooded w/ emails, letters, etc from fans of the same opinion, it wouldn't carry weight? Sorry, but I think my opinion does have value, as does yours and everyones. Gotta take all opinions w/ a grain of salt, but that doesn't mean they are w/o value. jason
And as always, you misunderstand the response. In fact, my whole stance on this started when people started saying that they would be better GM's, HC's, OC's, etc. I called BS on it and you guys started painting me in some "everything NFLers say is true" light, which BTW I have never EVER said anywhere. In fact, I agree with alot of what is said here and even by you. I have agreed with the Oline point forever with you guys, I agreed with you on your defense of Turner, I have agreed on the accountability issue. We have also had our differing opinions which is fine. But when you start saying that the opinions expressed on the board are actually worth something outside of the board, then I call BS. Unless someone posts that works in the NFL, our opinions dont have much value beyond the debates and banters of the board. And for the record, I agree Omiyale has looked like crap. I think I FINALLY understand what you may be saying. Yes, you are correct, no message board post has "value" to the team, because no matter how hard we wish, the team will not listen to us. HOWEVER, we may not be employed by the Bears, or another football entity, but it's entirely possibly, no, PROBABLE, that our opinions on this board are probably collectively correct, and better suited for the Bears' chances of success, regardless of the amount of "value" the actual Chicago Bears organization sees in our opinions. ========= If that's not what you are getting at, then I, once again, think you are basically being ridiculous. The worse this coaching staff does, the more and more they show incompetence, the slower they make adjustments to obvious flaws in scheme and poor player personnel decisions, the quicker they make excuses, and the more frequent the Bears look unprepared and uninspired, the more likely that others will join this side of the debate...which I have believed for quite some time. It's entirely possible that someone can do something wrong for a very long time, and just because they have experience or a higher standing doesn't mean they make the correct decisions for the whole. I happen to know a DII head basketball coach who doesn't have a clue about the game, always sucked as a player, and only got the opportunity because his daddy was a DI coach somewhere. With several of these coaches and coordinators (i.e. Lovie's buddies), I don't see why this situation isn't nearly identical.
