adam
Cowher is the polar opposite of Lovie and is exactly what this organization needs.

BearFan2000
Cowher is the polar opposite of Lovie and is exactly what this organization needs. Amen to that. I'd love to see him roaming our sidelines. He would likely bring in good coordinators. I vote yes x infinity. What as nice Christmas present that would be. adam
At this point it just seems like Lovie lost the team (it happens). His style of coaching only works for so long.
Connorbear
At this point it just seems like Lovie lost the team (it happens). His style of coaching only works for so long. Agreed. I think the same can be said about the Ditka style of coaching. Peace
adam
Agreed. I think the same can be said about the Ditka style of coaching. Peace Actually, it is probably that way with most coaching styles as they all eventually run their course. However, some styles burn out much quicker than others. madlithuanian
Better late than never! I had to wait for my Nintendo system many moons ago becasue the stores ran out at X-mas! I can wait for a Smith ousting! ...but not too long after 2009! It would be a little late Christmas present since Lovie and Co won't be fired prior to the season ending but I wouldn't complain. madlithuanian
...and in all honesty, when someone wears their emotions on their sleve, there is an assumption that they really really care...and tend to get a longer pass. I can see that. Peace

H'ed be all over the offense (players and coaches). I'd rather picture him delivering an emotional pregame that gets Cutller in a mental state that has him a competetive zone rather than playing not to lose. Oh if we lose out (Which I don't really see) he would most definitely be fired. You can't bring back a guy after a 4-12 season. Ever since the Superbowl season we have gotten progressively worse. It's all about the money though. If the Bears are willing to pay Lovie the remaining amount on his deal and walk then that would be great! If not, he'll be here for atleast another year... ugh. chitownman
There has been on going debate that both Angelo and Smith have far too much money left on their contracts however, it is time that Virginia steps up as the daughter of this franchise and pull the plug on both Angelo and Smith. I like Cowher a lot more than Shanahan and I think that this would be just the ticket to get this team back on track. I have also felt that Philips is not the right person to lead this team as well and it is time to get someone who really does understand football completely and will be in a better position to move us forward. Why the hell can't the Bears be the equivalent in NFC of what the Patriots have become in the AFC? Get real football people for this franchise and watch out what will hopefully be a positive change for this team.

The Bears are set up better than New England on paper. It begins and ends with Bill the Brain though. Which we are not even close.
DrunkBomber
Theyre not going to pay Lovie 11 mil or whatever it is to go away and than pay a coach 7+ million per year for 3+ years. Dont get me wrong, out of all the available coaches Cowher is the one I would want the most but it just doesnt seem realistic. The only way I could possibly see something like this happening is if JA can get Lovie to step down and give him a severance package, which he might do. The Chicago Bears arent going to be on the hook for over 12 million a year for two head coaches.
BearSox
The Bears eating the rest of Lovie and Jerry's contract would be like us losing a 5 dollar bill. The Bears and the ownership are raking in money every year. Selling out every home game with tickets that are well overpriced, being in the top 5, if not higher, in NFL merchandise sales, probably paying a sweatheart deal for Soldier Field, etc. The issue is the owners are cheap pricks. Hopefully people in ownership step up and smell the coffee and turn this team back into a football first franchise, not a cheap franchise. We will be raking in money every year, this is a given. We can bring in even more money if we focused on becoming a dominate franchise like the Colts, Patriots, etc.
