dont you know jason is an NFL caliber GM/HC....

he just chooses to post snarky comments on the internet

Nice try, smart guy. The Bears ARE HAVING SUCCESS RUNNING THE BALL! Are you even watching the game? Speaking of snarky comments, I've noticed you haven't posted that much now that it's pretty much certifiably insane to support the notion that Turner is a good OC. Coincidence?

Az,

I know you love you think all fans are just plain stupid, but do you feel the same about Brian Billick. Announcing the game, he too said he just didn't understand our play calls near the goal line. He too said he predicted playaction. After we ran our play, he said he just didn't understand stand the playcall and flat out called out Turner.

What Jason said is the same thing a former OC and HC announcing the game said. I personally do not think it takes a former NFL HC to see this, but doesn't Billick's comments really put into question your calling out Jason as you did.

Another great JA pick?

Should have been Rice or Mendenhall...

It is hard to knock the pick. After his rookie year people were thinking he'd be one of the best backs in Bear history. I think he deserves another shot and believe he's been injured but there is no denying he's stunk this year.

And no, taking a back in the 2nd round who was one of the best backs in football in his rookie year is hardly a wasted pick, imo.

Mendenhall wasn't available, IIRC (1st round pick of the Steelers).

I think we could have picked Mendenhall if we didn't trade our pick, no? My memory isn't great on that.

Forte looked like a great pick last year. Salaam also looked pretty good his first year. There is the softomore slup...but I fear Forte isn't that great. i really stuck up for him last year as nfo was critical of his YPC. I now see his point vividly.

I'm not quite willing to call him a bust, but I would have picked Rice over Forte... Forte wasn't even my radar. (note: my radar isn't all that...)

Mendy was taken in the 1st round, w/ the 23rd pick. In order to have gotten him, we would have had to not draft Williams in the 1st.

Now, I realize that would be fine w/ most, but if we are going to do "shoulda, coulda, woulda", I would rather go back and draft Albert or Otah, two OTs taken shortly after our pick (before Mendy). Fix the damn OL first.

We took Williams with our first pick and Mendenhall was taken later in the first round by the Steelers. Since both he and Williams were injured most of the season last year thats a wash and Forte did pretty well considering evn our own coaches and GM felt it necessary to replace 3 of the five starters on the OL. I believe Ray Rice's line is much better than ours so put him behind this group and he is Forte. Rice split carries last season with MaGahee and LeRon McClain which also tells you the difference of the two teams. Both like to run the ball but one team gives all the carries to one back and the other team gives 3 guys carries.
