Color Commentator: And we welcome in Lovie Smith, Head Coach for the Chicago Bears. Thanks for stopping by Lovie.

“How about those Bears?!”

Color Commentator: This week's loss to the Ravens was a tough one, coach. Many are disappointed.

“We had opportunities but we couldn't put it away. We've got to find a way to win.”

Color Commentator: The defense seems to be under fire lately, especially the cover-2. How do you think it worked on the Ravens' fade pass for a touchdown when Peanut was in coverage?

“Charles has been through a lot this year. He had a tough spell early in the season. He came back after that. Good football players eventually play that way. That's just a huge play.”

Color Commentator: The defense didn't look great; that's a given. On offense, however, many noticed the running game looked decent at the beginning of the game. What's the cause of that?

“We get off the plane running the ball.

Color Commentator: When the running game was working for the Ravens, it was evident that the play-action pass to Todd Heap became highly effective. In this matchup of talented tight ends, talk about Greg Olsen's contribution for this game.

“We continue to talk about getting the ball to the tight end. And that's the plan each week. Some weeks are easier than others.”

Color Commentator: Unfortunately, that didn't work out very well. It was also pretty clear that Johnny Knox was missing most of the game, and has been since his breakout start to the season. Can you give us some insight to his development?

“I think he's made improvement and we're getting a chance to see what he'll be someday.”

Color Commentator: Coach, with the season lost, what are the plans for integrating the rookies and others who show promise into the lineup? Aromashodu seems to have stepped up lately.

“We've seen improvement each day. And it shown, he's given us a taste of it each game that he's played lately the last two football games.”

Color Commentator: What about Jarron Gilbert, coach?

bearslovie.jpg

“Our defense is about four-man pressure and now we feel like we have a 'bell cow' at defensive end.”

Color Commentator: I'm not sure which player you are referring to. So does that mean Gilbert and fourth round selection Henry Melton won't see much playing time, even though at this point in the season the playoffs are a dream, and development is key to the future?

bearslovie.jpg

“The situation is different for different positions.”

Color Commentator: Coach, those guys play the same position.

bearslovie.jpg

"Our rookies will get better."

Color Commentator: Let's get sidetracked for a minute, coach. There is a lot of talk around the NFL about your future with the Bears. Care to comment?

bearslovie.jpg

“Stability is so important.”

Color Commentator: Ahh, so being coy? OK. Back to the offense. What happened with Jay Cutler this week?

bearslovie.jpg

"We just want to play good football. We don't want to beat ourselves.”

Color Commentator: Agreed. Any final thoughts on the embarassing loss to the Ravens?

"We know what type of football team they are, but we feel like we’re the same type of football team ... We’re playing a physical football team that’s fighting for a playoff spot. Each week is hard in the National Football League. They have a lot of good players. We have good players."

Color Commentator: Thanks coach! And now, this week's photo of a Bears' fan reacting to this week's game.
