Daventry
I was not able to see the game last night, but from what I have read so far, the Bears resurrection is of biblical proportion. Anyone else wondering how a team that has looked flat and downright incompetent can suddenly look so good on Monday night against a strong Vikings team? BearFan2000
two thoughts, and I could be wrong but this the way I see it. 1. Vikings came in expecting to just roll over the Bears and weren't' really expecting to have to exert much effort. 2. Bears coaches know they are on the hot seat and finally gave their best effort in play calling, game planning, and preparation.
chitownman
Not sure how to explain the miracle that happened last night. I truly expected the ViQueens to come in and kick our asses last night especially with how poorly we have played on National TV this season and in the past. I do not know if the ViQueens were overconfident in the matchup and expected Da' Bears to just roll over. I do not know if the coaches realize that they had to do something different to create a better result or what truthfully happened. It just goes to show that any team is able to win on "Any Given Sunday." To me it just goes to show how inept that this entire coaching staff has become and why the McCaskey family needs to make a dramatic change. We'll have to wait and see what happens come next Monday the 4th. Ideally it would be awesome to see Angelo and Smith shown the door and ideally somehow getting Cowler in house to lead this proud franchise back to respectability. nfoligno
Few things, when added up, I think made a huge difference. - Williams at LT and Shaffer at RT, combined w/ providing more "extra" blocking help on Allen. That isn't to say Cutler never faced pressure, but it was night and day from the first meeting w/ the Vikings. There were times when Cutler was sitting back in the pocket, and was able to go through all his reads (twice). That compared to the first game when Cutler was running from DL basically as soon as he got the ball. - Moving the pocket - We finally saw some rollouts and bootlegs, and what a difference it made. Nice playaction w/ everyonr rolling to the right, but Cutler immediately began rolling to the left, pulling up, and then hitting (I think) Olsen for a nice gain and 1st down. I believe Jaws commented on how it was plays like that which made Cutler in Denver. Only question for Bear fans is why we haven't seen it until game 15. - Aromashadu - I don't mean to make out like he is Brandon Marshall, but he made a difference. He made some tough catches. He worked under and on top well. More important though, IMHO, Cutler just seems to have confidence in DA on a level he does not have w/ any other WR. I think he likes Bennett, but Bennett is a more limited receiver, and thus not a playmaker. In DA, I think Cutler has a potential playmaker he truly trusts. Those are some of the keys which I think made the difference on offense. On defense, honestly, I think the difference comes down to two words. Tommie Harris. I really hate to say this, but that is how I see it. Harris came to play, and you saw it from the first down. When Harris is disruptive, it just has a tremendous ripple effect on the whole DL. We were getting pressure from the front four like I have not seen all year, and that was the biggest difference. I was not able to see the game last night, but from what I have read so far, the Bears resurrection is of biblical proportion. Anyone else wondering how a team that has looked flat and downright incompetent can suddenly look so good on Monday night against a strong Vikings team? DABEARSDABOMB
Injuries allowed the Bears to get Williams in a better spot, have better oline play and allow Jay to have his favorite weapon on the field (DA) and because of it the team was able to perform offensively. Defensively, well they still stink. Come on, Jay Cutler finally gets time, finally has some plays where he's allowed to play-action effectively and roll-out of the pocket and he ends up throwing 4 TDs vs 1 pick.
