nfoligno
Okay, I realize we have a lot of injuries, but Bennett and some others are still good to go, yet Hester is handling all return (punt/kickoff) duties so far. Question is, are we seeing (a) Team showcase Hester for the purpose of a future trade? ( Team trying to get a look to see if Hester can return to this role in the future, or © Team simply going w/ Hester due to a shortage of bodies. I think it was B or C. Peace
BearFan2000
...... hmmmm tough one must think illogically to guess this one right. A, if we are showcasing him to try to bolster the the chances of trading him and letting some other team deal with a return specialist who's head is filled with the illusion that he's a #1 receiver. B, a look at wheter it's viable to get back what we lost by removing him from full time return duties.... can he recapture the magic of his first two seasons? C, I don't buy this one at all for the reasons you state we have have other bodies that have done well in the return game. Being that C is the most illogical I'm going to go with C..... final answer. AZ54
'C' Why should we think anyone in the organization has enough foresight to showcase someone for a trade. Can't be B because our coaches who want to do everything possible to win would have looked at this a while back. Or not.

I've thought since the beginning of the season that D Manning and Hester were best when they have a part time role and also serve as return men. Seemingly, year after year we keep trying to have these guys do to much and their production suffers. Let Manning play nickel & Hester play the slot and serve as return men. As for the trade, how much is Hester even worth right now? IMO we couldn't get our 2nd rounder back for him.

So true, not everyone is like our GM who will give a 2nd rounder away for a backup level player.

DABEARSDABOMB
Hester needs to be traded or put at WR. He isn't the Bears best return-man and he probably has value. I dont' mind keeping as a wide-out either though, if the value isn't right.
bradjock
So true, not everyone is like our GM who will give a 2nd rounder away for a backup level player. Would you rather have kept that second rounder in the hopes of getting the next Dan Bazuin or Tank Johnson? Three years ago this April, Adams was arguably the best player in the draft. Unforunately he hasn't seen the gym since then. He's 26, he has 3 years under his belt, and if he can get his head out of his ass he could be a monster. He's no more of a gamble then any other player we'd draft in round 2. The only difference is that he has more talent.
