DABEARSDABOMB
Kurt Warner is expected to announce his retirement on Friday. Could the Bears turn to Martz for their OC position and than offer Warner a job as our QB coach. I realize Warner would have a lot to prove, but he makes quick reads, gets rid of the ball quickly, and would be a pretty good role model for Cutler. Just throwing it out there since evidently NFL network is reporting that Warner wants to pursue coaching or the broadcast booth when he retires. nfoligno
Even if Warner retires, I believe Az would still hold his rights for 2010, as he should still be under contract for that year. If that were not the case, you would see players "retiring" all the time just to sign w/ another team. Kurt Warner is expected to announce his retirement on Friday. But being under contract by the Cardinals probably wouldn't prevent him from coaching somewhere else. Playing sure, but I got a feeling the Cardinals would let him coach somewhere else if he wanted to (they might even offer him a job). nfoligno
My bad. Honestly, I read the post too quickly and thought you were actually suggesting we sign Warner as a FA QB. Just call it end of work day stupidity. I do wonder how great of a QB coach hire he would be though. There seemed to be more animosity between he and Eli in Ny than a situation of a veteran helping a young QB. And in Az, I have no heard many stories of his going out of his way to help or work w/ Leinart. Sure, it may be different as he is a player right now, but I also think a player who one day will be a coach is also the sort of player who is sort of a coach during his playing days. Ya, I don't know if it would be wise to hire an unproven guy or not. He seems pretty smart though. I definitely think the Bears need to hire a legit QB coach for Cutler. One whom can tell him and yell at him when needed, but ultimately have his respect.

He did a great job with Hasselback. Peace

nfoligno
I have no problem w/ Zorn as a QB coach, but want no part of him as a OC. His playcalling was a flat out joke. He made Turner look like a genius. I'd be very excited if we brought Zorn in.
