bowlingtwig
Denver just traded Peyton Hillis, this years 6th and a late round pick next year for Brady Quinn. Kyle had a good year with us then gets traded away. He put up good numbers last year for Denver and now who know what will happen. Poor guy just cant catch a break. 'TD'
Orton will start by the end of the Year, if not all year. I haven't been impressed with Quinn in the NFL.

Pixote
Not so sure about that. Quinn has a much stronger arm and can take advantage of the speed of Royal who disappeared with Orton at QB. It could be very interesting to see what happens.

Yeah but Royal disappeared more from the system than Orton.

It could be very interesting to see what happens. Maybe, but according to PFT, if Quinn plays over 70% of the snaps, they'll owe him 5.9 million in 2011. Otherwise, Detroit only pays a paltry $700,000 a year for Quinn. Not bad for a back-up with possible potential. IMO, it's easy to determine how good a player is when you see how teams value them. A 6th and Hillis means Quinn ain't worth much. When we paid a ton of money for Chester Taylor, it's presumed that he'll be a starter. When you get Quinn for damn near nothing, he might not even make the team.

flea
It's hard to say if Quinn is all that bad, He was in a terrible situation in Cleveland betweeh injuries & the QB merry go rounds he didn't get much of a chance
bowlingtwig
It's hard to say if Quinn is all that bad, He was in a terrible situation in Cleveland betweeh injuries & the QB merry go rounds he didn't get much of a chance Your right. This past year Cleveland refused to give him the chance because they didn't want him to surpass the % of snaps taken because they didn't want to pay him. I bet that if 3 QB's went down and he was the only guy remaining that they would have called someone up from the PS or worse yet do what we did with Chad Hutchinson. Call while he is surfing, just to insure they didn't have to pay him. Lets also keep in mind how bad Cleveland is. Really bad team with NO receivers and an Oline that might have been worse than ours. I still believe that Quinn can be successful in the NFL if given a real opportunity to play. My gut tells me that he will be given that chance in Denver and he will succeed as that is a much better offense that would be ideal for his arm strength that he has and that Orton does not have. It was joked on the SCORE maybe Orton should pull a Cutler and ask to be traded now lol.
nfoligno
I read that too. New coach, new system, very different way of using Royal. What was really surprising to me was, as much of a non-factor as Royal was through the year, I was shocked they didn't try to alter how they used him. He was so good as a rookie, then they change how he is used, and he is a waste of space. Yeah but Royal disappeared more from the system than Orton. chitownman
Always thought Quinn was not as good as his hype while at Notre Dame and I am shocked that Cleveland thought so much of him when he came out of college. I think he is better then Chris Simms by a very small margin and that is the only positive for Denver in trading for him. Apparently McDaniels wanted him last year when Cutler wanted out.
